Please don't take this the wrong way guys, but i thought this site was all about the passion for a certain brand of cars????
And as far as i'm aware you two gentleman are indeed adults, and not children stealing each others toys, this should be a case of you agree to disagree.
Like Cornelius said not everyone in the club will get on, this isn't a perfect world unfortunatly, if you don't see eye to eye with someone don't talk to them and just be courtious if your paths cross, i know it's easier said then done.
But Gangsta, a total unconnected view, any shows or car photo shoot spaces will always be offered to those who attend the set meet when the topic is risen, if you weren't there, then you couldn't put your name forward, and if they got there full allocation of 7, then it would never have made it to a thread, as first come first served.
I was a member of the RS owners, i never really used to go to the local meets but at the shows always thought i'd have liked to of had my car on regional display, but it's the same scenario, i couldn't be arsed to attend the meets which means that i'd never get asked.
Like i say total impartial view and don't mean to offend/upset anyone with my opinion.

Gangsta I know nothing about your car other than its a WR1 but if its something special or different why not ask the magazines to feature it
or why not arrange another event with who you want to be there & invite a mag along to cover it !

Still, the people that may have the answers your looking for are all at Butlin's at the mo,unfortunately, im no wiser than yourselves!
I believe there having a drink on me?!?!.......

All that i could say is that i have never been made to feel more welcome by a club/organisation than the ESC - within my driving years i have belonged to 3 different car clubs where i have given my time, money and passion too. All the 3 other clubs were made up by males only and again featured high performance cars... they were clubs with whats been described in this thread... bitchyness, catty, arguing but most of all JEALOUSY.
I do honestly realise that i am only new to the ESC but i have not ever witnessed this behaviour... what i have always found in situations like this is "the more you put in, the more you get out" - my question would be how much time have you put in? do they see you that often? would your name be at the front of their mind when a opportunity like this comes around?
Could YOU put yourself in their shoes - and think to yourself - "we run a club with hundreds of members, all with amazing cars, BUT, we can only take 7, who and how shall we do it? - whatever decission was taken would have been wrong is someones mind and would have upset someone along the line.
It is a great shame that this thread has taken this tone - especially when others are away from their PC's and cannot reply or defend their actions.
Yes i do know i am only a scoobie newbie - but loving the ESC
