Just finished counting the funds, we raised £580 on the night, plus we had a £50 donation and a £5 donation from a non-scoobynet person.

So the Total donation to 'Give A Child A Chance' is £635

Once again, a Massive thankyou for your support, and donations.

Pretty good turn at Hartsead 10 cars in all, most of them new faces to me, great to meet you all guys.

Thanks for the short cut Grift

Bgood waited at the end meeting point for you but, guess the temtation of the pleasure beach got too much..

Just me the Grift and a few flames ended up in a mini convoy for the run home.

good night all in all, traffic was terrible leading up to the lights but once in pretty steady flow through. Glad we stuck with it..

Thanks to all those who showed up, be nice to catch up at one of the WYIOC monthly meets..

Cheers for the comments fella

I was gutted when i realised I went through the traffic lights and left you guys, then i saw you all fly up the inside, was tempting to follow but we stuck it out all the way, plenty of cars at MacD's.

Cheers for keeping us entertained, you guys behind were well funny, I thought Craig was German at one point. ha ha

Just so he dont get labelled a scrounger, I offered em first. ;-)

Think the next meet is at Kirkburton 27th Oct

Was a shame we got split up but as you say not to worry. Great to get out and meet some new faces..................legs are paying the price for a seven hour stint in the car now though.

Nice to get there in one piece after nearly getting wiped out by a Land Rover who just had to try and get in front of me despite the warning his lane was about to disappear in a couple of yards. Nice bollocking off the mrs for not being the "bigger man" and letting him in. No way was I being bullied by that t**t.

Notice Mick's car came under close scrutiny from a rather battered white Toyota Hiace. After literally pushing poor killa (nice to meet you mate) out of the way I thought I'd move to the side and let him on his way.......then he gets up poor Mick's rear nearly quite lierally!

Notice 99% of the attention we got on the promenade was in good spirit. Small minority had to act fools. You know the ones, those that can't hold their drink past 10pm.

Finally anyone notice that blue civic parked up on the front? Asian guy taking video footage of what appeared to be his mum practically laying on the bonnet? All the revellers walking past agreeing what a bizarre sight it was? WTF? Still cant get that one out of my head (not for want of trying)

Anyway hope to see you again at one of the WYIOC meets.

Thumbs up

Well now, where to start

First of all, Phil that's a bloody useless excuse

All started off very nicely at hartshead, as Mick said about 10 cars, well 9 cars until 16:01 and then Killa turned up, nice timing mate

Off to Tickled Trout we went to meet up with the a few more and a jolly nice bunch they were too

Then off up the motorway headed for Blackpool, which is where it went a little wrong (thanks for not mentioning it Mick but it's ok I'm not proud)
So there we were, me and the missus (on her first ever scooby outing) trundling along looking at all the nice cars on the motorway when we suddenly realised we had got to the front of the Q, well in fact we had passed it
So we pulled into the inside lane to let them catch up and go past us as did the car behind that had been following along, you can imagine our surprise I'm sure when we saw them all pull off at the junction we had just passed , fear not though the scooby behind came along side and gestured for us to follow which we did and proceeded up the motorway and then back down to the junction we'd misssed and onward for a magical mystery tour of the suburbs of Blackpool

Furtunately we made it to the meet point in the end at about 18:00, thanks Paul wouldn't have had a hope in hell without you mate , and what a great turn out it was, scooby tastic

18:40 came and off we all headed in a deafening burble down the road toward the lights, with sideroads and roundabouts blocked along the way and people shouting and cheering as we went by

Then we hit the Q , didn't actually get passed the police controlled start to the illuminations until about 21:30 but I have to say it was worth the wait , the lights were ace and the reaction from 99.9% of people was brilliant, I've never had so many requests to bib me horn and rev the engine

Sorry I missed you at the end point Mick, didn't know there was one to be honest, by the time we made it to the very end of the lights (about 23:15) we were ready to go home having had our fish and chips as we were driving through the lights so just followed the signs for the motorway.

As has been said, shame we got split, shame about the traffic but all in all a top night and we raised a load of dosh for charity to boot

ps, pics to follow just uploading at the min
