My car had a newly built engine, and suffered from no setup time (300miles of running and 20 mins of mapping on the way over!). The track wasn't as consistent on sunday either, which I think is what made Andy's problems more prominent too. The one in May they prepped the track every time we ran. This time they didn't bother and the grip was a bit up and down, normally I span the tyres, except the second run when they had just prepped the track and I bogged down!
Most interesting run was the first, 10.9@108 after backing off half way down and pootling in 5th gear over the line.
Expect to see some better times from both Andy and I before the year is out.

Paul, they prepped the track with some very nice smelling spray
on every run we saw.
Neil, it was good to see you guys running again, although you both looked like you were having gear change issues.

So am less worried about leaks and so on, and hope I just need some time to get it properly mapped.

I didn't see any prep for the 1st run Steven ? Paul and I followed the RWYB and I don't recall anything happening in between ?
On the last run there was mega grip available as I lined up in the tracks of the RX7 which had laid down 2 sticky black stripes![Cool](images/smilies/cool.gif)
I thought it was a really well organised event, very slick running and excellent regular updates of information, running times, qualifying info etc. Very good effort from Rick in my opinion and (despite the 13 hr round trip) I'd be more than pleased to do this event again next year![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

TBH, I wouldnt know what full track prep consisted off.
I only saw qualifying run 3, and then eliminations. Before the Pros (you guys) ran, they sprayed the track heavily with some stuff i can only describe as smelling like Bubbalicious.
If my car is of a sufficient standard, then i would be very interested in running next year, although it would depend on local accomodation facilities, as i would not like to drive that far on the morning of an event like that (christ knows how you cope Andy, or Paul when he goes to Elvington)
Agree, that it did look very well organised, and from a spectator point of view, it was superb. The 1st time in ages i have had proper itchy feet, and wish i had something to drive.
Good show lads! Keep the good work up.

Mikee recorded another personal best, which he has managed time and time again this year, something that can come of not monkeying with stuff all the time like some of us do!

Too true Paul, i am still adamant i could knock the best part of a second off my time at SSO, just by getting used to the car and trying different things from a driving point of view.

I quoted Andy from Andy Forest Performance and Paul fom Zen in Northants
I also beleive that Roger Clarke did the development for Team Ice's car?
Those were the big hitters i was quoting.
Don't get me wrong i'm in awe of all of them, but just a few stand out !!

Rob, i read it correctly, i was merely adding 2 more cars, that in my eyes stood out over 2005. Granted, i have a close connection to one of those cars, but Mikee needed mentioning because he has done exceptionally well this year.
Times recorded this year
AFP 9.82
RCMS 9.84
Zen 10.3
LP 10.4
MS 10.6
When you consider the weights of the above cars, some of the times are very impressive.

Impressive result by roger clark / ice team the semi final and final was very very close, well done ![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
I was behind you on one of your runs, you car was almost went sideways off line
![Eek2](images/smilies/eek2.gif)
Paul, 10.5 still not a bad result saying you put car back together in last few days
Looking forward to seeing better results from you and andy![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Nice to meet you and Michael on Saturday, did Michael win Subaru RWYB class in his legacy? I think he ran a 11.2.
Im happy with my result 10.6 @ 128mph
(no nos, launch control or anti-lag) still think theres a bit more to come from car, maybe 10.5? once I get boost problem sorted.
Thanks to smg, kev, adam and everyone else that helped me yesterday, much appreciated also big thank you to scoobyclinic who worked flat out on my car last week getting it ready for Sunday, including building a new gearbox and rear diff and and pat for re-map on Friday, still can’t believe the result 500ft/lb (up from 430) and 526 bhp. its mental on the road![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Top day, looking forward to next years![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
steven, if you enter your own car next year whos going to drive marks (lateral) car![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

Was a really good day and was pretty awe-inspiring to see a large number of Scoobs getting in the 10's..... something that seemed so far off a few yrs ago when people were gunning to get 300bhp out of their motors!![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

they didn't prep the track for the 3 qualifying runs except for a brush and scrub every so often, only when it came to the quarters did they lay down the glue, first by hand with a spray, then via the tanker attached to a nissan bluebird for the semis & final
