Bob,
irrespective of state of tune I could always get 1.6s 60ft times - standard engine and gearbox, up to big turbo with 550bhp. You are right they were not low but mid 1.6s. On any given day in the Scoob I reckon that at least 50% of my slips would have that achieved...
...and the crucial thing...as Steven rightly says I am no drag expert, maybe 100 runs in total over six years. With NO gismo's (we were scared to use them) simply my launch technique. And I never broke anything on a launch. When something broke it was always in higher gears.
Surfaces include Santa Pod, Elvington and the two launch surfaces at Melbourne.
If Steven and I could hybridise (what a thought) we could produce storming quarter times, he may be good at gear changes but he is crap an launching![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

Have you ever thought that you could do the launch and then swap seats with steven (very quickly) and let him take over from there?
![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Did you use your handbrake on launch?

Thanks for the responses from every one, think im going too put it down to high intake temp "it did read 140deg f " on the psi3 computer at one point. Sure on full boost it will do late 12's
There was plenty of waiting in the queue. Surely can’t be the only one to get this problem how do you over come it while waiting around for so long?? Didn’t want to damage the car running it cold or anything,
The car has only done 5000miles so could still be a bit tight as well
Spec-cie, you are very right about the handling, it is unbelievable still cant get over how well it goes round corners and would defiantly like to pay the Ring a visit in the not to distant future.
I just wanted to be sure the car was quicker than my old type r in a Straight line, the power delivery is so different...
BOB'5 yer well done on your runs mate, can’t be too unhappy with 12secs, didn’t realize your car was completely stripped out....by the way my 60ft time was 1.871.

Its not. Just seats and spoiler. Takes 20mins.
If you're using a tmic its worth cooling it down with water before you run.... not so much that it drips though as they wont appreciate that on the strip and will stop you running.

Hi Peeps.
It's good to see that The Pod stillattracts Scoobs like flies to poo!!!
I was fortunate enough to own my Scoob before IM became aware of what we were all doing to them, so I wasn't THAT sympathetic. Having said that, my first gearbox lasted over 30k miles, so The Pod wasn't the problem.
The original thread covering my best time is here.....
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...stef+santa+pod
If anyone has a 500bhp Scoob they want me to try at The Pod, mail me.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
S.
PS I launched by revving the engine between 4-6k and just timing the clutch lift and throttle-flooring!
