Yawn - isn't your clio so wonderful Single exit decat on the way - should even the mods field a little. Haven't got money for a mugan ecu to offset your r-sport though and I don't have a rear bench to take out.

Your bro's P1 must be awsome then because its faster than every other P1 I've been in, raced, seen or heard about and faster than the EVO6 I played with too. Tek3'd at a guess - he doesn't (didn't when I was in it anyway) even have a boost controller so he wouldn't know if its flashed.

Lol my CTR is not standard, had to do something as I could not let the wife (STI) have a faster car than me hehe....

A good driver in favourable conditions will just pop under 15 sec 1/4 with a 98-99 terminal. Time is let down (especially to 60) as you need to change gear at 58mph to 3rd.

Sorry to go off on completely different thing Frazer - but did you have an sti up until fairly recently???

Ps - keep up the good work with saxo boy, after all everything he post seems to somewhere say "was racing a wheel barrow (sorry 911 RS3) or similair bollocks but had to back off otherwise the back end would have lit up or the flux capacitor would have over loaded. Get a life and just enjoy your car, honest no one will bother if you don't race them / pee them off by trying.

Oooops now I'm joining in and I promised my self I wouldn't - saxoboy do you have a baseball cap with s2000 embroidered into it? Thought so and a honda racing jacket, umbrella, key ring, t-shirt, fleece and undies.

No roobs I don't. I don't have a cap, I don't make pointless journeys in my car though high streets, I seldom have a mcdonalds, I listen to a range of music, I'm well educated, houseowner, in stable employment.

I love cars to bit. I love being in them, I love compairing them. I love the fact that today I held an evo at bay. I love the fact my mates rx7 made me feel like I was in reverse. I love the way I tried to keep up with a metro GTI not using vtec because the engine was cold. I love dicking around with the backend on empty wet roundabouts. I love having the roof down in slight drizzle getting odd looks and I love sitting with an imaginary £45k on the autotrader website picking 'my car'.

In short if loving cars and everything about them makes me a chav.................then so be it

Oh, and since you are so supportive of Frazer you should know that Frazer (neil) is just like me! The boy wouldn't back down from a MacLaren F1 if he thought he could get a bit of dual carraigeway banter out of it

I should add I run NF in my car on every tank. To me it feels like more than 276bhp, but then, I have nothing to reference it against. I'd be impressed if an S2000 can live with a 6.5s 100-120 time though!

We did try a quick 10-100+ blast a couple of weeks ago from first and to be fair I did murder him.......bus length anyone, hehe!

Who did? You and your bro? No idea how quick s2000 is from 100-120 but it doesn't hang about as its in the guts of vtec in 4th with two more gears to play with.

that 100-120 for your p1 is alittle on the slow side!

my volvo can beat that!, it can do it in 6.3 secs, and it weights twice as much as your p1! ,lol

i was waiting for that, lol

the volvo i have is the 1st volvo that can handle, it has shocks that can adjust thenselves, can go harder or softer, here's a quote that explains it

" The S60R has the Four-C (Continuously, Controlled, Chassis, Concept) system, which adjusts the level of each shock absorber individually 500 times per second.
Some of things that the system monitors are: longitudinal / lateral acceleration and yaw rate; vertical motion of car body (roll, pitch, heave). Vertical position of each wheel and speed of car; steering wheel position and speed of rotation; engine torque, throttle pedal position and engine rpm; and degree of braking. Pretty impressive really and a testament to the advancement of computers, the system has three settings: Comfort, Sport and Advanced.
Four-C has a couple more tricks up it's sleeve: Dynamic Cornering Control (DCC) and Active Yaw Control (AYC). DCC basically ensures the car rolls less during cornering, whilst AYC reduces understeer and oversteer by firming up the damping to counteract the laws of physics. The car is actually set up to allow some degree of oversteer, to provide more driver enjoyment."

that gives you a idea wot it is trying do

Sounds pretty smart but it still has one fundimental disadvantage. High power and fwd. If we credit the Volvo with having as good a turn in as the S2000 (doubtful given the position of the S2000s engine within the bay) the rwd delivery means the apex can be taken early and the power applied earier - in theory. One of the biggest attractions of the S2000 for me is the FR layout and the roof of course.

I do see the attraction of volvo's though - the engine used in the T5 is tunable and can be given frankly disgusting straightline grunt! Seen a vid of a T4 light the fronts in dry tarmac in 3rd gear! Now that's

Doh - probably should have checked that But I did google image it and know what it looks like. My boss has one of those models but not the R and its a big bugger - with respect I can't imagine it could hold the road like a rwd sports car.

for sure, the engine is to far forward on the volvo, but the weight is near enough a 50/50 split.

also the 4wd is not a 50/50 split,it can change the amount of torque front to rear, when you accerate away, the system can put upto 100% of the power to the back wheels, when you enter a corner it will pump 70/80% of the power to the rear, to give better turn in, then it returns to a 50/50 split for rest of corner, then if just cruising along motorway, most of the power will come via the front wheels.

also when accerateing away the rear shocks will become hard to stop rear end squat, when braking the front end shocks will become hard, to improve stoping distance.

there has been a couple of times the rear end of the car has loosed(oversteer) up on a wet roundabout, when accerating, then the the dstc shuts the problem down, the car allows 10/15 degrees of sideways movement, before stoping it, you can switch the system off.

its not the best handling car, but its the best handling volvo!

What problem Sounds ok to me

Nice vid mark but its not really a fair fight. If it was evo with downpipe vs s2000 is exhaust and induction it would be fair but the Honda has a revised final drive and it makes a difference (have you seen the vid of 4.77s vs stock in the sig of one of the american guys on s2ki?)

Kenny, a DP on an EVO is worth infinately more than an S with zorst / filter and gears.
A zorst and filter is worth zero BHP on an S - as you know.

The gears do make a difference, but the EVO is likely to be a 280 at minimum.

Would like to see the comparrison vid though.

Meh, I disagree

I don't know if an Evo has a cat in its downpipe like the scooby but I'd guess a straight downpipe replacement might take an evo from 276bhp to 286bhp.

I'd say with those breathing, intake and exahaust mods the Honda probably has 245bhp. However in the stock vs 4.77 race vid I saw the geared honda put easy 3 car lengths on the stock one by 100+mph. That's quite a bit (I admit a fair whack of the damage was done in 1st/2nd where the stock S2000 is weak).

In my experience of playing with Evo's they will generally creep away slowly. P1s are the same as evo's so I'd be very surprised if a stock P1 or Evo 6 could put 'bus lengths' on a stock S2000. I'll see if I can find that stock vs 4.77 vid after I've had my fry up
