Pairs Betterball Good team Game
All Tee off , Choose the best drive , Then both play 2 nd shots from the chosen drive , & Again choose the best 2nd shot & So on
Until the green is reached
Then it's alternate puts until holed
Well think that's betterball
Just an idea ,

Are the teams going to be drawn out of a hat?
Could be a bit more interesting then as well...
plus scores done on a stableford basis, using 1/4 of your combined handicaps...?? and each team member must have at least 6 tee shots used as part of the combined score..
looking forward to this, although the weather forecast said it is going to snow as of tuesday..
Can someone post up the long range forecast for wednesday??Tiny??
thanks
jon

Just checked the Met office web site, best dress up nice and warm for Wednesday!
Pairs better-ball would good, or texas scramble with 4 teams would also be good.
As Spally suggests, without getting to serious it would be fairer to mix the higher and lower handicaps into teams, either pairs or fours.
I have found the following explaination for Texas Scramble.
In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.
Texas Scramble is a competition format that is a basic scramble with a slight twist.
Scrambles involve 4-person teams playing four *****, but with each shot coming from the same spot (the best of the four drives is chosen and all four team members then hit from that spot, and so on).
The variation in a Texas Scramble is that at least four drives of each member of the team must be used during the course of the round: At least four drives hit by Player A, four by Player B, and so on. In a regular scramble, a great driver might have his tee ball used on every hole. A Texas Scramble eliminates that possibility and allows even the weakest driver on the team to get into the action.
TS is a nice way to play in a group and is less pressured on us high handicap players!

My handicap is 22
Arrons is 24
Playing texas scramble as a four ball could be time consuming and some clubs may not allow it, although you may get away with it by playing in pairs..
Maybe you could check it out with the club Phil?
Is there going to be a meeting place beforehand? Times etc?

I'd love to mate, but at the moment I reckon I have more chance pulling a whale out of my *** than attending.
You wouldnt believe how hard it is to find a decent cheap run around lol.
If things change you will be the first to know.

Texas Scramble or a better ball format , Think that it's best to play one of these
Teeing of @ 11am We will be very pushed for time / Light imho to play Stroke / Medal play , As long as there is no snow !!!
With regards to the handicap , I've just hit 100 ***** down the range
Best i play off 36 !!!!!
