This type of thing has always gone on - but we do tend to import ideas from the other side of the pond sooner or later, unavoidably. The cane was stilll in use when i was at school - it wasnt a detterent to the worst offenders neither was expulsion. Even involving private security for every school wouldnt solve this type of problem.

I was talking to a police mate of mine about this the other day. He was saying hes had jobs were someone on his shift has been called to a school where one 12 year old has tripped up another causing a grazed knee and the police were called. NFA. What a fvcking waste of time. Slashing another kid with a blade and nearly blinding them is of course another matter

From what I have heard locally, this was more like the bully being brought down a peg or two( still horrific injuries), but there is more to this case than I or most people know.
