Lampard - Not exactly bought last month for £40million though? and I wouldnt be picking him as one of the best midfielders in the world, many would replace him like Ronaldinho etc...

Crespo, how many has he scored again? World class, yes but not a premiership player, hes a south american, not many if any (argueable) south americans have made it on this side of the atlantic.

Robben, well fair enough. had a blinding start but again, off form IMO now hes settled in. Overated

Makelele, fair enough, great simple player....

Funny how Utd aint in that list btw spending £40million on Rooney.... The premiership has been run by cash for years just because Chelsea are a new player at it you cant knock them for building a decent squad. not a world class squad. a decent squad. Again, go sit and think about the best players in the world and then think how many are in the Chelsea team.... Theyre no real madrid
It's only because Roman didn't know that the most important thing in Footie is the Manager - Once he realised this he BOUGHT the best one

Disagree, who was Jose before the Champions League? nobody would have picked him a year earlier IMO. Ranieri was doing a fine job, OK he didnt pull of a miracle in the first season but he still had alot of things in the pipe line like Robben (wasnt a Jose signing was he) I do think Claudio would have done a fine job the year after.

Saying that though I dont have a problem with Jose, think hes a comical manager and brightens up managerial interviews rather than watching old red nose whining about the referee cause they only played 10 minutes injury time and not 15 so Utd could score

think teams are scared of them which means you have lost before kick-off. wigan were not scared that's why it took a world class finish from hernan crespo to get the jammy away win.

may I point out that Wenger has a NET transfer deficit over his 9 years of £26M!! thats less than spurs, newcastle, liverpool, manu, chelsea, boro, leeds! and has yet to finish outside the top 2, so the prem hasn't been just a money thing.

The key difference is that before chelsea any top team could compete with each other in trying to sign players. now there is no contest. eg, we had verbally agreed to get shaun wright phillips for £14M but then Chelsea came in with £22M and that was that, again with Essien, Manu U and us wanted him but were again priced out. At least Manu U had a budget they had to stick to.

Hat`s off to them they`ve been awesome so far, just like arsenal were in their unbeaten season, just a bit less interesting to watch. At the moment Chelsea have the ability and also a good slice of luck going their way, which always helps!! However, take Lampard, Terry, Makelele and Cech out of the equation and you may see a very different side, bit like Arsenal without Henry perhaps? as for buying the title, Blackburn and man U have done it so why not them? my only fear for Chelsea is that their poor crowds, especially for champions league games, might make Abrhamovic think " sod it, i`ll put my cash into a team of supporters that actually appreciate it!!!
