Bugger. It looks like esnips are getting snotty about the number of visits from a single shared folder link. If you pm me an email address I'll add you to the list of members.

When you get your link, would you post it on here?

Cheers.

Leonard Haze of Y&T......fastest single bass-pedal player ever.

Bill Ward.....BLACK SABBATH.

Alex Van Halen.

Cozy Powell.....especially when with MSG.

A.J.Pero....Twisted Sister......immense rock drummer but EVEN BETTER jazz drummer.

Mel Gaynor - Simple Minds.

Neil Peart...already mentioned.

Simon Phillips......words escape me.............!!!

Phil Rudd.......AC/DC......Powerhouse timekeeper.

Dave Lombardo.....Slayer........unbelievable stamina

WHERE DO YOU STOP.............!!!

I know that all above are heavy rock drummers but that's what I listen to, however, if the title asked about greatest drummer of a particular genre..........then it must be:

Rich, Baker or Bonham.

Si........pretty good drummer myself too..........

p.s:I purposefully neglected to mention Mike Portney of Dream Theatre because he's overrated and too full of himself.

With a bit of luck, ajm will be along to post a w**king link to my sprog's video. If anyone else wants to see they can PM me their email and I'll add them to the guests. A link iwll be sent to your email. I think it's worth it, but then again, I'm a bit biased.

Saw Buddy Rich play 25ish years ago, he is without doubt the best drummer ever..................... though I wasn't too bad then either .

A guy I work with was good friends with Cozy Powell and has some of his personal stuff at home including letters, photo's and some of the great mans drum sticks.............."Dance with the Devil", that takes me back

P.S. Dave Weckl is a technical wizard - it's just a shame his bands are always a tad cheesy.

Will agree on Mike Portnoy - the man's got an ego bigger than his drumkit (and speaking to professional drummers I know he's not held in that high a regard).

Having played with a few drummers over the years I will take the reliable good time keeper over the 'across the kit every 5 seconds' guy anytime.

Especially when you are gigging - and you usually find the reliable guy can sing aswell - always a bonus!!

My opinion on the drummer? Has to be Peart I'm afraid.

Good thread this...read every post - unusual for a 5 pager

Too right. With my last decent band, the main drummer really couldn't drum very well in the technical sense of the word. But gigs always worked best with him.

Sean Moore - Manics

Bill Berry - ex REM

Dave Grohl

Are good drummers that spring to mind for me. I like the who but i think Keith Moon was over rated (slating due?)

BTW, Travis' wife is really hot! Was miss usa!

Excuse me, but haven't you forgotten someone...

RINGO!

Journalist: "He's not the best drummer in the world, is he?"
Lennon: "He's not even the best drummer in The Beatles!"
