Spiral Tribe were great. Do you remember the Fields Of The Nephilim track they used to play? Does anyone remember what it was called? Someone did a brilliant remix using it recently.

That was a classic. In the small side tent was an unknown DJ playing loads of 'piano' (italian) house. I think he said his name was Sasha....
So many stories like the sasha one, I remember John Digweed when he was collecting empties and playing warm up sets at the Crypt In Hastings & at the early illegal Bedrock parties in 89/90 in Queens Hotel and the pier.
Then there was fabio as a teenager when he got his break at the Genesis parties i think it was, somebody didnt turn up so he called his mate (Grooverider) to bring him some records down and they did their first set.

Oh yea, and of course the other thing that happened was that the people stopped being happy. They all started doing cocaine, taking themselves really seriously, and became mega boring... All the fun of acting like a lot of naughty kids in a field together evaporated.

At the anthemic time you mention, that time i was in Holland/ Germany and listening to proper 'Grown Up' Techno festivals and going to loads of free parties over there as well as the organised ones - Love parade, dance valley, Mysteryland, thunderdome etc

My first event was Awesome101 at Marcos Forum, Livingstone, 8 August 1992. Just as Awesome started to go downhill.
http://www.fantazia.org.uk/Scene/orgs/awesome101.htm was hooked from there on in, or at least until 96 or something.
many, many good times were had at these events and loads of happy people became your friend for the next 10 or so hours, not like that anymore.
One of my real favourites was the Streetrave events at Prestwick Airport, ever been?, so surreal having a rave in the departure lounge of an airport

Used to love Fubar, Rez's and all the Tartan Techno .... as you say there were loads of happy people, and you seemed to be friends with people kike they were a life long mate after knowing them for two after minutes after sharing their bottle of water or nicking some chewy off them ... Thanks to everyone who saved me from chewing the inside of my cheeks & Lips off

Motec - do they do specific training for motor technicians there??
I remember doing my LPG training with Vauxhall out that way?
Fubar was nuts at the time, as im sure your aware, what i liked especially was that the bouncers would walk through the chill-out area before the police came through and they would tell you to stop smoking jts etc!! Then when the police were gone it was back to norm.
On a Scottish tip tho, what about Q-Tex, Scott Browns band they had a few good tunes. Along with TRS who sounded quite like them.....and I dont...and I dont....and I dont do coke..!!
iirc Marc Smith had a record shop in Glasgow for a while, i think it was DubII but im not sure. 23rd precinct was the place i always went to.
Rez tho....sneaky eye and Triple XXX, did you ever hear Triple XXX cover that s/o/r tune I mentioned earlier?? Class

Scott brown - now is the time... Classic Tune. I always used to go to 23rd precinct too, I started back in the early 90's with their Limbo Label when i was all techno/tribal & progressive. I bought their first release and every single release from they did for about 2 years.
Havannah - Schtoom What a tune
