I know mr brown & his headbanger of a brother very well

Also do you know of "The Doctor", big fat w@nk that he is, also hixxy, i met him in his hayday, he had just purchased at the time a new M3 Evo, that lad was nuts as well.

He is still in touch with Gordon (The doc), they still play together

Nope, never mixed in this circle at the events.

Its weird how things come around, I'm better mates now and more involved second time round with stuff for Matt and Declan - Slipmatt & Slam (United Dance Slam Not scottish Slam) as well as John (Lime) and Roy (Ellis Dee) than i ever was then.
I guess I never was really into the happy hardcore direction that people like Matt, hixxy, sharkey, dougal whent off in... a bit too bonkers for me... excuse the pun .
Now with the re-birth of old school it was time to get back in the saddle

I guess my musical taste was quite electic back then, in '93 I would be amsterdam for a dutch hardcore/ gabber event in rotterdam, but then next night listening to Sara HB, Bobby & steve on Kiss for some US vocal house/ Garage. but then next weekend I'b be at Labyrinth for some Darkside hardcore/ DnB, or going to a REZ for a bouncy techno, scott brown style

I think people in record shops used to think I was ... I was really into buying strictly rhythm and nervous stuff...but in same shop also buy a lot of DJAX/ R&S/ Mokum/ Rising High euro stuff, as well as buying some piano stuff and soem bass generator thrown in for a good mixed bag

Hi M8,

I felt Ruff with this cold I got, but when I got in the swing off things I felt better. I don't play out anywhere anymore, just cover the odd set, so its good to get behind the decks when I can... bit rusty now .. dont even have any decks at home anymore ... so apologies if it sounded a bit clangy in some places
I'll be doing another set soon, want to dig out some of 91/92 techno/ festival and belgium stuff for a set, stuff like Spiral Tribe, Rising High, R&S, Joey Beltram,GTO, John & Julie etc. Stif i used to hear at events like Universe/tribal gathering, energy, and the free parties in the west country from that era. Also want to grab a set playing some of the stuff that first got me hooked and first heard in a field in '87 '88 era - some classic Chicago House, original NY garage (Not this modern UK/2-step B*ll*cks) and UK Acid House.
Sets are few and far between these days, but will let you know when i'm on again

Me too M8, I was 17 in 87 at my first party/rave.
My older sister used to drag me out to all the illegal parties, her boyfriend and flatmate used to arrange a load around hastings/ camber sands in Rye and used to go to loads m25 orbital .

Good stuff this morning m8. Didn't hear it all but I got my shout out.

I was going to ask you about getting an mp3 of a couple of your mixes. No decks is a bit of a showstopper though

I think i will take some tunes round the studio when nobody is on and record some sets and then put them on mp3 ..Requests please want styles you want to hear

just out of interest what style of tune did you prefer the more Intelligent/ Artcore stuff from earlier in set or the ruffer stuff from the second hour .... with only 2 hours its hard to cram in all the different styles annd flavours that Drum N Bass/ Jungle spanned from '93-'97

I'm gutted now as back then didnt think anything of it, so lost, gave away, sold so many it makes me cry now
Most of them now would be worth a mint and just not in existence anymore, so many stack loads of white labels i got rid of, used to work in a record shop in hastings (Darren Ash's shop - One half of MegaBass) and used to have pick of the shop. Thinking back I should have just taken everything I could, but you dont think of it then, you take it for granted. Stuff Like Appollo 2 - Return to Atlantis and lots of the Bukem Stuff is changing hands for 50 notes plus now, and Spiral Tribe records are now cheap at 50 if you can find any, i remember not bothering to buy them, because i could always use other peoples copies, copies we got in for the shop, so dont have a copy myslef now

Just thought I got a whole boxful of my original mixtapes from '94-'98 first time round sets, can convert these to mp3 maybe. Always wanted to put my original mixes onto cd or mp3, sounds like good excuse .

I think i may have some remaniss sets on cd that i recorded, be warned though these sets are a bit ropey i dont have any decks anymore so a bit rusty only chance i get is a couple of sets here and then
Not that my mixing was ever that good to start with even back then

I'm just ripping one of my recorded sets from CD and uploading ... should be done in a minute

Its from a set about 6 months ago I did, but most of the same tunes are on it that I played today
