Handbag house remixes from the 90s don't get you off the hook. I thought you might have had some old skool credentials there for a moment, but clearly not. Just another Pete Tong loving disco weenie. LOL
P.S. - everyone knows that....

Voodoo Ray from 1990 http://www.discogs.com/release/53771 which would have been the first time I heard it but then Oz was a bit behind the times in those days. There were also a couple of other Oz versions of it that year which aren't showing on there.
Voodoo Ray from 2005 http://www.discogs.com/release/537304 which shows I was correct again so my memory is not completely going.
So, as I thought I'm not wrong and yet again you are but are unable to admit it probably because even you can't think of a valid reason to bring Blair into the debate.
Rather than ruin eClaire's otherwise excellent thread why don't you skim through the rest of it and pick out all the other non-90s choices as seemingly you have nothing better to do than get yourself constantly proved wrong by me.

Haven't read through all ten pages of this but has anyone mentioned
Origin unknown, Valley of Shadows. Long dark tunnel!!!
Arsonist, Micky Finn?
Renegade snares
Spiritual aura, engineers without fear
Terrorist, Ray Keith
The one that used to say 'Lighter' What was that called?
How about the Ragga Twins stuff. The one with the eurythmics riff and the one that had the Walking in Memphis tune. I'm raving I'm raving!!!!
If you are in ELondon/Essex try 95.2 FM play some tumping toons!!
They even played some of my fave 80s stuff. Anyone remember Doug Lazy, Gino Latino, or the best, Richie Rich's Salsa House
ps what was the d n b one that said ' Mr x your son is dead, he died of an overdose' That was a freaky one!
Good thread this. God, wish I was 10 years younger! Maybe we should have a Scoobynet ' back to the old school' rave meet!!

Oh yeah, used to love Nightcrawlers 'push the feeling on'. Did anyone understand any of the words of that tune other than the title? I've heard it a 1000 times but can't make it out

You weren't even in this country when the ORIGINAL rave scene went off. So much for your knowing what a great tune was. You were still dancing to Kylie and Jason round the barbie in your back yard.
See ya later you lightwieght gay disco merchant.

I used to love Stu Allen, being a Mank i used to listen to him in Key103 every time he was on! Had loads of his tapes but have lost them over time So many amazing house tunes
MuttsNuts you wouldnt happen to know where i can get hold of any of his material would you??? Or anyone else?? I'd really like to get some again!!
eClaire, Barbers adagio was a corney kind of dance tune but i was well into my trance at that time, Binary Finary, Madagascar etc etc. 99, what a year in my life

I just remembered some lyrics of a song i used to love! It goes:
I cant stop raving me
I cant stop raving
I cant stop raving me
I cant stop raving
Come an take a trip with me, to a land where love is free,
Follow me into the light, everythings gonna be alright etc etc
It's a woman singing it, Can anyone tell me the name of it???
Gav..

The original phrase (accidentally truncated by Gerald Simpson's sampler) was "Voodoo Rage" and was spoken by Cook; the shout of "Later!" is by Moore. Now I bet you never knew that!
Gerald sent 'Voodoo Ray' into Manchester 103fm Radio Station in 1988 which was played by Stu Allen's late night show. He didnt leave any contact details on the recording and for weeks the request was going out "Will this Guy Called Gerald please contact the station as soon as possible" and so the legend goes he was also working at Mcdonalds at the time.
And to make things worse .... he reportedly sold the rights to Voodoo Ray for only a couple of hundred pounds (in order to buy a used drum machine) and consequently made no royalties off what turned out to be the biggest tune of the UK acid house era
