Just to bring this up again. I had a severe creak whilst turning slowly. I had lubricated all the steering mounts, but to no avail. I have just had the bumpsteer shims removed and the rack is totally quiet now. So those with a creak on the steering and bumpsteer mod, beware.

I'm wondering what is causing the noises/vibration and sound of fan belt squealing when starting up car from cold - seems to be brake/brake block/suspension related and with sounds coming from front offside wheel area, especially when turning wheel and reversing backwards. I'm sure the car is not feeling very sorted out on the open road, with a vague feeling and some floating sensation - plus occasional knocking sound from that side when over poor surfaces. Not sure what is the root of this but whatever needs doing, I will get full geometry reset done as well.

Ive had a very similar problem with mine! The pressure relief ring in the power steering pump jammed, causing excess pressure! This in turn caused the seals in the rack to weap. Even after i relolved the pump problem, the rack still made the noise that you are describing! I would check your fluid level and keep an eye on it. If it doesnt seem to be leaking, then personally i would replace the track rod ends, if not just for piece of mind!

My creak turned out to be the Rack mouting bushes.
Replaced with Whiteline ones and removed the bumpsteer mod.
Now no creak but the car does move about on rough surfaces more.
Bumpsteer mod V2 needs to be designed to alleviate the excess bush wear issues me thinks!
