I like to go and play snooker once a week, in there for a couple of hours and come out stinking like Ive smoked a whole pack of **** myself....
Assuming this is in a private members snooker club or social club then gutted for you because they're not included in the ban.

I'm off down the workies for a pint and a tab

Slightly different slant on it

I loved smoking (especially big fat joints)

But I gave up due to wanting to live a bit longer and the fact that my lungs were complaining about mountain-biking

I play in a band in pubs ... choice I suppose.......but it does earn cash

I come home stinking of smoke

The next day... I want a cigarette/joint more than ever.... as it's stuck the nicotine back into my body

Hence... I want it banned in public so I don't keep getting reminded of how good a big filthy lung full of disgusting smoke feels

Si

Happy ex-smoker

It's the ******* who are stood at a bar or just sat having a drink and a bit of smoke wafts over or the people who walk into a room and waft their hands infront of their faces and make a remark about the smoke. It's those people that are ruining the momentum of this ban and pi55ing people like me off. Smoking and eating do not go together, I agree on that one
Unfortunately to many smokers do light up in restraunts which is really what gets on most non-smokers ****. If it weren't for these inconsiderate b@rstards you probably wouldn't be facing the ban that's looming.

So don't blame non smokers for the current situation..!

As for the loss of revenue from smoking, the several billion £ saved by the NHS would more than cover this.

I'm not a fan of this ban everything culture we now live in (have suffered from it myself, but that's another story..!) but smoking in enclosed public places has been on the cards for decades.

What a drag....

This has been covered every time the smoking ban gets mentioned, and the savings for the NHS don't come close to compensating for the revenue loss for smoking.

Ha ha Mikey,

Yes we all are on limited time but its how limited that counts. My smoking cost me a quad bypass and I was lucky enough to be diagnosed before it turned into an attack. There are better ways to spend an afternoon too!

That is your choice of course, and we all used the "maybe" excuse too

I know how difficult it is to stop well enough, and I used to really enjoy a ciggie as well. I was only able to stop because of an enforced time in hospital because of a nasty accident.

Trouble is, I have to spend the rest of my life now wondering whether I have got away with the more unpleasant consequences.

In the meantime, I have to say that I find cigarette smoke really unpleasant now and my conscience bothers me about the effect my smoking had on others.

May as well be I'm gonna have to put up with all you smug looking non smokers sat there tipping "non alcoholic alcohol" down ya necks all night.

What duya mean ? That's what you'll start on next after the cigs.

Alcohol is dangerous cos it damages your kidneys and makes you do daft things. That's about right in't it? Makes the minority fight in the streets and young women turn into ***** after having too many. That's right is it not? Why should I have to stand there and have people sway into me all night, why should I have to watch where I walk so as to avoid the puke on the pavements? Too many people drinkl though so looks like that's got a few years left yet Hypocritical muppets

Yup, I'm waiting for alcohol to be classified as a class A drug and therefore banned Doesn't bother me that much, I don't drink all that often

But fredom is a word that has been lost now, we do not have freedom of choice anymore.

My tuppence worth

1. I'm a smoker, have been for 13 years, but want to stop soon.

2. I would like it banned and made illegal purely to help me give up

3. For the ones saying the tax shortfall will be met by spending the ciggie cash on alcohol and gadgets - thats all well and good, but the smoking related NHS costs wont just stop overnight, and i'm not too keen on everyone spending the dosh getting pissed up - even more pissed up idiots around

Ciggies create £16billion, and cost £9billion, so we'd have to be drinking **** loads of extra ale each to make up the £7billion deficit

4. I would like it banned, though I dont like the idea of NL starting to control what we can and cant do. You cant please everyone, all of the time. Performance cars will annoy the tree huggers and any neighbours, should they be banned?

Just my thoughts, i'm a fairly considerate smoker, not in eateries or in the car or house etc.

My friend said it was a nightmare when they did the ban in Ireland, Weekend fighting went up by about 50% because people were all trying to cram into the 'smoking shed' in pubs and clubs so there goes your NHS theory, they will be treating more wkenders.
The government makes too much off us to ban it completely. Referring back to the NHS comment, what would you rather have - a smoke free pub or more illegal immigrants taking advantage of our NHS/benefits systems if some extra money does ending going into hospitals etc.
