Second picture down, possibly the driver under the blanket

I know theres been several other mega car crashes in recent years. Of note there were a few Mclaren F1's and MB SLR's some of which were also traveling crazy fast. I think the chairman of BMW crashed an F1 at over 150 also. The main difference though is that in the Mclaren and MB's the drivers lived? Are those cars just better built or has this Ferrari simply raised the bar in terms of the severity of accident? Thanks, JL

Can't be the driver under the sheet in the second pic, it's too small. If anything it could be a limb i suppose.

Instead of a bonnet, could that not be the engine cover panel?

A serious waste of beautiful machinery, i wonder out of the 399 sold how many are left now?

The McLaren F1 was known to be involved in 2 serious accidents. Pischetsrieder crashed his outside Munich, at a very high speed, & survived unscathed. The other involved a prototype whilst doing hot weather testing in Africa. The car barrel rolled at very a high speed, again, the driver survived.
It is known that the McLaren prototype used to pass the type approval crash test can actually be driven away after passing the test. The car received only superficial damage to the front end, & what's beneath it were untouched.
I think the F1 is an amazing car, in terms of design & engineering, nothing comes close to it, even today.

Yup, guy was a real ar*ehole though! Drug Dealer, and was IIRC on bail at the time. Also like to rape women!

I suppose thats the trouble with supercars, and to a lesser extent any car, its a lethal weapon, however a **** in a Nova has less capability to have a really huge accident than one in an Enzo or McLaren F1.

That guy with the McLaren sounded a nasty piece of work, but I try to live by the what goes around comes around ethos, doesnt cover the passengers though, they might have been as bad as him.

It is however a good heads up for the rest of us, i.e. if we end up in a position where we are fortunate to buy such a car it does make us aware that they are just like any other car, perhaps potential Gumballers should read this thread ? all good fun but I am surprised that there hasnt been a fatality yet, Martin Hadland survived and so did the blokes in the white Ferrari. Not really bothered about them though, they are big boys, they know the risks, its the poor sods in the places they blast through.
