Hmm InvisibleMan, I'm not saying you are being overly optomistic, but I just read a couple of tests in Custom PC mag. Fear at 1600 X 1200 4x AA & 8x AF, tested with the latest all singing and dancing X1800XT, FX-55 overclocked to buggery and a A8N-SLI with 2 Gig of OCZ Platinum "only" gets 46 fps. If you can get that with your setup and a 9800 pro I want some tips pleez m8
Or does your post above mean it's not a 9800? Confused now

Yeah I know, FEAR is just about the ultimate PC crusher at those sort of settings. I'd think COD2 and Doom 3 (for open GL) are about the only other games that will test a top flight PC. Those FX chips are beasts as well, why I was hoping Invisibleman would give me a few tips

Well I'm hoping for great things OC wise from the X2 3800 I've bought, especially on the A8N. I've also bought a new Antartica water block for the chip, so we'll just have to see. I hear they run well at 2480MHz core clock speed, 930MHz HT speed (HT reduced from x5 to x3), and 310MHz (DDR620) memory speed, all without water cooling.
