remember , he may not know about cat c but you now do so if you find the car is a dog and want to sell it are you willing to lie to jonnie cash who wants to buy it.. it may even be an offence ... also you have now told a million scooby netters about it .. be prepared to take a possible big loss ... also the chances of pxing it would be very low... personally i think the seller is talking s..t... buyer beware... he looks like he has set up a new account on ebay to sell this so he is not worried about feedback ... an internet company with no feedback b....x... ..... all that glitters is not gold

i had a car once that was accident repaired but was not aware. I went to trade it in and they offered me £100 for it instead of the £1000 that had been agreed before they done the hpi check. told them not to bother with the sale and that i'd run it into the ground. at the time i phoned citizens advice and they said that you do not have to state it but you are not allowed to say that it's in mint condition or lie if you are aware of it. however if someone asks you outright, and you are aware of the history, you have to tell them otherwise you can get told off by mr plod.
not sure if the law has changed on this?

Think your miss may have been your mercy there lad.... If he wasn't straight about the CAT C god knows what else has been thinly veiled about the car. Think there were some clues in the text too, there were mentions of OUR opinion as opposed to MY opinion indicating a company / trade sale.
For 8K I think you may end up looking at some rather suspect cars of that age. There are some tidy low mileage UK Turbo 2000 motors in autotrader at the min.
Starting around £7,800 ono for a nice standard 2000 example with 40,000 on the clock in DBM
2001 Bug-eyed in mica red with 30,000 for £8,300
Through to a slightly modded 1999 WRX STI with 35,000 on the clock in white for £8995.
Or hows about a de-catted 2000 Type RA V Ltd on a V plate £8,995 with tracker, incomplete service history a possible bargaining point??? V599 OGC - anyone on here know of it??? Shoreham by sea area - do some simple searching on the web to find its true owner.
