cars you thought cool and went in when you were young

When I was 5 and my brother 8, we both squeezed onto the front passenger seat of my dad's mates' 308 GTB (Dark blue with tan leather.)
I can still remember trying to climb into the back seat!
Both tucked into 1 seat belt - we then blatted around Surrey's A-roads - my brother glued to the speedo - 100 - 110 - 125....
Have always dreamt of a 308 since then - though no doubt the performance would be a bit of a let down after an STi?

635csi gets my vote. My dad had one in white, which looked
Shame he didn't go for the M635 afterwards though as I used to drool about those as a spotty teenager. Same engine that was used in the M1 wasn't it?
Cool car I nearly went in? F40 !!!! Guy that used to come into the video shop I worked in promised us a ride in it. He came in the day I wasn't working and took my mate out in it instead. Gutted! They'd only just come out too.

If you're an old **** like me - Mk II Jag - I learned to drive in a 1955 Austin A30 which was 19 years old at the time. I always fancied a Jensen FF. As I got older - Holbay Hunter, MGB GTV8, Escort RS1800.

The Delorean! man that was cool. I always wanted a Silver VW Scirocco cos they looked similar and my dads friend had one.
my first car was.. a red Scirocco.
it was a crap one though, most of it was knackered- gearbox, it got broken into, leaky rear windscreen awful hard steering, and the carburettor broke, so i got a weber twin carb. made it faster but it was still a trash heap

nissan bluebird turbo 1.8zx shape like the bmw of the 80's. Had it superchipped (turned out to be a bleed valve) and a peco big bore 4 exhaust back box. Sounded mint, and for a 1987 car it had all the toys, full electrics including suspension (soft normal and hard), sunroof, cup holders and a spoiler. Handled remarkably well, and would leave escort rs turbos for dead, (not fiesta turbos though) Front bumper was a bit flimsy though when I decided to try rallying down some country roads in frodsham. (was only young though at the time)

My Dad had a bright yellow Mk3 Cortina as a company car once, black vinyl interior and rostyle wheels - we felt so cool in that. Sitting in a red GranTorino in the Ford showroom playing at Starsky & Hutch on the way home from school. Went in a Beach Buggy aged 12 years and got hooked on wacky cars. Caterham 7 demo at Brands Hatch - woow how fast can you corner? Anything with a V8 that made the ground shake
