would you swap your scooby for a tt?

I have one at the moment, a 225 TT which has had a remap & got the usual exhaust on it. I only bought it, so i could look like a hairdresser & impress the neighbours, who dont know the first thing about cars.
Its going into the trader next week, as i have purchase a 535d Tourer, that would eat it up for breakfast

boxster and 350z quite pricey though.
535d tourer, smart, but bit grown up.
plus side i see at the moment for the TT, are marmite type look, either like or not, but agree with looking a bit dated, but the newer versions with new headlights and grills etc. look good i think, power is ok, not as raw, but still quick for everyday use, mpg is good compared to scoobies at most times, and resale value.
the niggles are size and concerns on quality issues with electrics

consider the deprieciation of a scoob compared to a TT?
I have just been quoted 14K trade in on a year old STI against a BM!! that's a potential 11K drop in just over 12months!!
I am sure but the TT holds its value far better.
Can't say I have tried both - but did run the new Mazda RX8 230 and a std WRX back to back and as a drivers car the Scoob won all round, - bought the STI with a big grin - now looking at trade in values not feeling so smug!

Looking at this one I'd say the reverse is true....

in defence of the TT, I think they look good, I was always impressed with it since I saw the pre-release version at the NEC Motorshow.
Despite being a bit hairdresser, you get lots of nice kit, they look good modified not over the top like some Scoobs can. They have far more of a 'made it' image than the Scoob can muster (though I would agree that if anyone said this is less so these days).
With a remap, exahust FMIC (instead of the small items in the wheel arches!) they push out quite a bit and for everyday driving up and down the M4, and a bit of twisty action it would be fine.
I considered getting one but instead got a scoob, as it was more car for the money at the time.
There is also quite a tuning community involved with them as well.
.......I'll get my coat..........

ITS A GOLF UNDERNEATH , RIGHT.
its for the style conscious, not for the keen driver - if this your bag ..
they also cost more and have less space..!

If i wanted a car just to attract stupid women, then i would (or buy my old 5 series back) but for driving experience i think the scoob is very hard to better and blokes you see will think your a nonce case/hairdresser.
Cant beat audi build quality on the whole, but never see the point of two seater roadsters unless they've got serious beans (ferrari 360 etc)
IMO

Took out a 225TT, and in the same day a standard WRX when considering a new car in the summer. The looks of the TT are much better than the Scoob IMO.
We have 2 kids (but have a family runabout), but our criteria was a drivers car and value for money.
We took out the TT and enjoyed it - had some fun. If we hadn't tested the Scoob we would have bought it. Took out the standard WRX and our jaws dropped when I opened her up. Went back to dealership and signed on the dotted line........................................with PPP of course!!!
Never regretted it. Love driving the Scoob. Cost...........well, there's no pockets in shrouds!
So if looks and build quality are your criteria - TT. A driving experience - Scoob.

Was your's an early one/high mileage ?
To be fair, you'll never get an unbiased opinion from anyone owning a scoob. Even though I wouldn't be seen dead in a TT, I'm sure they have many things in their defence. (no stupid spoliers, no chav image, no cheap 3k imports, no drain pipes for exhausts etc)
Horses for courses and all that
