If you want to turn this into a slanging match then fair enough, just don't moan when 50 thousand people melt the SIDC server.
I really don't understand why you come here to say you don't like it
On the other hand stick around and have fun.
It's up to you bud!!!!

Default Updating SIDC FAQ

It is severly out of date though (five years out of date to be precise)
Anyone thought about updating it. does anyone have the time or the inclination.

newbie comes on, finds a site he thinks is usefull, posts it and just because it's done the rounds he gets flamed.

newbie comes on, posts about MPG/what exhaust/tyres/oil and gets a 2 page thread with helpfull replies.

blinding community spirit

surely someone posting 'SIAL' would have been a bit more constructive than slating the guy?

I have to say I feel sorry for Adzi, to the newbie SN can be a daunting place. Adzi (and others) if you’re still reading this and haven't tarred us all with same brush, then my advice is stick around.

For all it's bad points SN is a fantastic source of information (Scooby or not), you need to understand the culture to make it work for you. It can be very funny at times as well

All the best.

Shame Adam got several **** taking type replies.

When I was new to all this, I remember stumbling accross that very web page, reading it and thinking that it was informative and useful - and for somebody with little knowledge it is!

My tip to a newbie would be to use the search feature and do a lot of reading before posting. This way you know enough about the car and the 'style' of ScoobyNet posting to avoid making 'mistakes'.

ScoobyNet is great IMHO - just learn to get into the swing of the banter and understand that you may not be treated in the same way once you have been around for a little while.

Funny that the only forum on Scoobynet that regulary organises meets is Muppets?

How that correlates to SIDC organising meets is beyond me, but its not always about the cars

Got to admit though...SIDC gets more google hits than Scoobynet -->
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...+impreza&meta=

Even their FAQ is the 2nd result.

Shall we try and calm down everybody

SIDC and Scoobynet have lived in harmany for many years, subject to a couple of blips but hey thats between me and Webbie

You like what you like

If you like it here then great

If you like it over on SIDC then Cool

but ffs lets not slag each other off

I have almost as many posts on here as I do on SIDC

Both sites compliment each other

ONCE AGAIN CHILL

BTW The FAQ is due for relaunch soon, I really didn't realise the effort that went in to the original.

Well said Phil. Im a regular poster on both SIDC + Scoobynet, I enjoy the 2 forums completely different set-ups. I will continue to ignore posts that are either too "Lovey dovey" on SIDC and the To$$ers on Scoobynet who troll the boards looking for fights.

I do feel for Adz on this thread, he didnt know, end of, but it was very funny too

I'll say it again - if the place don't suit you - **** off for gods sake.
You must be really, really bored to go somewhere you don't like, just to tell the people there that you don't like it.
Feel free to stay and look at what SN has to offer, but if not then ta ta

PM to webmaster:
Please set up a temp forum for people who don't like SN to go so they can tell each other why they don't like it. Maybe if they had their own place they might like it

but why cant you regular people just be a bit more welcoming????
I got the same when i came on and still do. You ask a genuine question actually thinking and hoping somebody may help and all you get is abuse. its like none of you want new people on.

All are welcome and i'm quite happy to help out where i can. I just can't stand noobs who moan when they're here.
There are a few who are quick to take the ****, but you have to remember that SN has 50k members - and with that comes dicks.
I think the original poster has had a few very sarcastic replies aimed at him unfairly, but at the same time he surley didn't think it was news to SN?

This Brun guy is a comedian. You think sacastic replies aimed at him are unfair? More like ridiculous and un-called for.

"The empty barrels make the most noise" I bet half of the guys flaming this chap haven't got a clue about the facts in the FAQs.

Phil Stephens: I don't think your audience are as intelligent to understand and comprehend the message you are trying to rely, therefore, save it.

Feel free to flame guys. I suppose you have nothing better to do.

ridiculous - maybe, but i don't think so.
un-called for - close enough to unfair i think.
Comedian?????????????? I've been honest with my arms open to all but those noobs who don't wanna be here yet feel the need to tell us. Feel free to point out my comedy post and i will save it to my favorites.
As for the faq. 90% of the newbies to SN are sent in that direction for a read so i'm quite sure most are aware of it

Some of us are, I always try and come to the support of those that are being unfairly treated. However, what makes SN so good is the diversity of the posters, newbies are always welcome. Heck without newbies it's going to become a pretty boring place.

For it to work you will always need a balanced argument, unless you try and wind me up about MFI kitchens........in which case look out

Allan
