I think he'd gone downhill big-style by the time you had lessons with him. He wasnt divorced when I learnt and he was actually very good. I learnt/took my driving test in 1987 when his **** was still together...

He didnt offer any discount I dont think but he was reasonably cheap anyway at about £8 per lesson.

It depends; I think that John Felstead is friends with him, but he isnt on the television much now. His name is Chris Maries, he's old and fat now but he is still very very fast (he was always a lot faster than Barry Williams and Tiff Needell), with a style similar to Gerry marshall's...

I will let you know about the films; did you manage to find a THX setup disc?

Think I will get the barge award, I passed in a 1989 Mercedes 190D which had no power whatsoever, easy car to drive though

My instructor was a bit eccentric, used to smoke a pipe while we drove around.

1994, i learned in my dad's B reg passat estate, which i used to drive on the 3 hour journey to Uni at term start/end at 100mph the whole way! mmm the days before speed cameras, using someone else's car and petrol.

had my test in a BSM corsa (lessons were around £30 if i remember rightly)
