Talbot Sunbeam (sadly not the Lotus version) waaaaay back in the Summer of 1979.
Oh, and what's wrong with Hillman Imps? That was my first-ever car that was.
Morris Minor (driving school car) in 1966. Always have a soft spot for these. Great car for a restoration project as most parts can still be got. I owned a split windscreen model c1953. 918 side valve engine, maybe 25 BHP, most I ever had on clock was 72 (downhill etc).
Took my one and only lesson in a Vauxhaul Viva in the morning, followed that same afternoon with taking my test in a Vauxhaul Chevette HSR, a powerful car in its day.
Incidently, my first car was a Z28 Camaro. £840 insurance for 6 months back in 1982
Kept on getting my shoelaces caught in the steering knuckel where the column passed out through the bulkhead, endless fun
My Dad's 911, when I passed my test the drive home was interesting.
Dad's always had fast cars (I guess as he doesn't drink), like father like son, except until him I don't earn £160,000 a year so the WRX is my pride and joy .
red fiesta diesel .was 1st test after new year hols in 1984..... my 1275 mini wouldnt start in the cold so only time i drove the fiesta was for half hour then the test ..... lucky the examiner remembered passing me on my bike test only months earlier..... oh and we had the same surname
