The TomTom Go 300 can be linked via Bluetooth for getting traffic info etc but you'll need the 500 for hands free phone use too

i am considering trading in my RA and getting the Navigator for £350 and free laser thingy worth £100
the subscription runs out after xmas so it isnt worth paying £100 to extend it for lifetime and selling it privately, so it would make sense to get £150 off the Navigator i think

hi Anna
Sara, did exactly this a few wks ago & then sold the laser thingy for £40 on ebay Paid £499 less trading in (got £160 as did it at the same time as a bloke at work) Also got the Remote gps thingy (£40) foc in the deal (this is for heated front screens, my 2nd car has one)

Works very well but you need to take it out of the cradle & turn it off at the bottom (bit of a naff sunken switch) each time you park up or the battery goes flat & it takes a while to lock back on to the sats. Good for security thou as left in the car it would be gone in 5mins I recon as loads of sat navs are been nicked from cars.

If you are going to the meet that Colin has posted in Southern next Sun I should be there so you can have a play if u like

You can also have a go with the sat nav

this is the offer i got through the post. i thought i might be able to sell my RA for £100 but the subscription is £100 so i am better off trading it in for £150 and get the free lazer thing as well

Yep. I still have over two years subs paid upfront on my RA & emailed Blackspot to see if it was transferable to the RA Navigator.Sadly it isn't but happily they said I could still do the upgrade anyway & keep my old RA unit.Which I will now sell on & transfer the subscription to the new owner.Which they have said I can do.

My Navigator came the other day but it has had some issues with the SD card which Blackspot are hopefully rectifying by sending a replacement card tomorrow. The unit would freeze mid-journey & could only be unlocked by resetting it by switching off underneath & re-booting it.It also would not allow the clock to be set to the right time & on one journey it took 15 minutes to get a lock on my position.

Hopefully the new card will resolve these issues,as when it's working it's features are v.good.Prompts at junctions are spot on & rerouting if you miss a turn is ultra quick.

Anyone else had problems?

had this problem with the other guys one @ my work. Mine is fine & locks on straight away (as long as you remember to turn off at the bottom when not using it) The other one is now fine since they swapped the sd card (which was done v.promptly ) All in all, very good units thou the switch on the bottom would be better if more accessible & preferably on the side of the unit.

It seems like the SD card is a "known" issue as when I rang them they offered a replacement card straight away. The other "fix" to stop it crashing was to not use the anti glare strip over the touch screen.Which I had already tried/removed.

I await the arrival of the replacement card with bated breath. It's the Southern Santa Cruise this Sunday so it will need to be up & running 100% by then.If not I have a Tom Tom ONE on standby (£224 @ Argos + £10 voucher back) but it will stay in it's packaging to be returned if all goes well with the new card.

I agree with you about the switch being fiddly to get at underneath. Also to stop greasey finger marks on the screen it would have been a nice touch to have had a stylus & holder built in to the case.

All sat-nav kit is excluded from Argos's 16 return policy. Still; you can always break it and return it: I f*cking hate Argos.....

Thanks for the heads up on this Simon. That is what I had heard when I reserved it on line.

My branch manager is however a star.So long as the shrink wrap cellophane is still sealed they will take it back. They even wrote it on the till receipt & initialled it in case they are not there when/if I take it back.

So jobs a good un.

The new SD card came as promised by 1st class post this morning & is installed.I've re-entered my favourites & am ready to test tomorrow.

i replied, "Who's that from? A dodgy, never heard of them & it'll never arrive company..
& he replied, No They're on Special introductory offer from PC World & you get a free gift worth £20 if ordered today.
I checked it out & he was bloody right..but it didn't show on standard searches.
My advice, Get one Today..

Went into my local pc world to check this out and the price they are selling them for is £219 not £119!
