You lot are just a bunch of Johnny-come-lately's. I bow to the record set by Mr Lewis, but how does Sept. 1961 sound!
Ford Popular, 3-speed, side valve, 34 bhp and lots of hand signals! - Oh, and petrol three shillings and sixpence a a gallon! (17.5p)

1977 - bike and car the same month - 1 week intensive course for the car and passed 1st time - those were the days.
Bike also 1st time and took it on a knackered Honda 70 stepthrough crash box - straight onto a Suzuki 500. - those were the days.

1992 at the ripe old age of 16 (1st time) ... well, there have to be some perks to spending your youth on the Isle of Man
Thinking back, I actually learnt to drive at 13 in gravel pits & quarries in an old Suzuki SJ410 jeep ... happy days

1997 for me too (seems a popular year here) once I finally managed to scrape together enough money for lessons, as a poor student. Passed first time though and managed to breeze through the new (thankfully easy) theory test too.

20th June 1991 10:00 am. Passed first time, obviously.
Had to kick my dad out of bed at 5:30am cos I was that nervous. he had to take me out driving for a couple hours to calm my nerves down. Without that I know I would have failed. Cheers Dad.
