Dweebs like you paulr, spineless 'yes men' (or should that be boys?) who run down traditional UK values for short time spin and sound bites. Get over your teenage wall poster of 'Tonee' son, and take it out of your hand when you post with him in mind, lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationalism - good, neutral read

Apples, don't forget that minorities are just that - despite what the Daily Mail might have you believe.

Paulr

That really is a very poor effort at trying to belittle those who genuinely support this country and our ideals.

On the other hand you did very well at showing your admiration for those who are doing their best to undermine Britain and its way of life.

Leslie,

I think Paulr has a point, who or what is stopping you from living your life the British way, or in fact any way you want?

Fair enough, we read the "Billy Bull$hit" stories in the papers about Muslim this, black that, British way of life, etc, etc, but really what is stopping you?

When was the last time, someone stopped you from being British. As a side issue, if you were prevent from living your life to your British values who stopped you.... were they the "white moral minoroty" or some "foreigner"?

This is not a dig, or a sarcastic comment, I am honestly interested.

Andy,

It should be apparent from my previous posts that I have not been blaming what you call "foreigners" but indeed the "white moral minority" for the attitude and restrictions with respect to political correctness that they are attempting to lay upon the rest of us. This stems mainly from the left wing liberals who have become part of the Blairite culture and who have got themselves into governmental or council posts. These are the ones who seem to spend their time trying to think up the next ludicrous idea to kow tow as they see it to ethnic minorities or to their own PC ideals. These pronouncements and rules that they foist upon us are eating away at the fundamental way of life in this country and that is what I object to.

No one has yet stopped me from living my life as I wish so far, but I see the threat to that in the future and I really do not want to see that happen.

There is adequate evidence to be seen now as to just what a seriously bad effect it is having in general in this country already.

Hope that will satisfy your genuine interest. I certainly don't apologise for voicing my thoughts on these matters.

Dont be silly Les, the second the government plan to release a LAW that will stop you doing as you wish, it'll be going against the grain of the majority of the country and THEN we'd stand up and say enough is enough.... Its not going to happen. Call the 25th of December Christmas if you wish, call them stupid lights Christmas lights if you wish, call, well anything you want to call anything. We all will, anything the press come up with to stir things between 2 differentiating cultures/races will 99% of the time be tosh and should be dismissed from anyones head. Sometimes newspapers should be closed down from some of the rubbish they print.

Hi Les,

First of all, thank you for your answer, and no I wouldn't expect you to apologise for having an opinion. At least you have the courage of your convictions to voice them. Unlike some people on this board!

My issues lie with people who naturally assume all this countries troubles should be put squarely with the migrants living in the UK (be they legal or illegal) I will be tarred with the same brush, despite being born, educated, work and pay taxes in the UK. The most frustrating thing is when you work out how much my family pays in tax, to watch some work shy layabout, teenage mum, etc, etc collect more than we pay, then have people like them complain about the immigrants who "come over here and scrounge"

So in conclusion, you live your live the way you want. The only potential threat to you doing this is the liberal NL culture, or as I call them the "moral white minority".

Either way it sounds like we agree!

Leslie,i'm not trying to belittle anyone but trying to make a sensible and valid point (as seen by Andy).
My question was,in a practical way, what are they stopping you doing.

Let me first of all make a point in your defence.15 years ago the EU did put forward proposals to ban motorbikes over 1000cc on safety grounds. Now obviously that would have seriously affected the activities of bike enthusiasts of which the UK has many. The bike community fought and got the law stopped.Secondly there is the working time directive which if implemented fully in the UK will cut overtime for many people.
There are two pieces of legislation that will directly affect people's lives.

Now i'll ask you again, what have the EU stopped you from doing that takes away your Britishness.

Surely it can't be just me that has noticed that the so called PC brigade stir up more tension and hatred than any other section of society. Racisim of any kind is an abhorence as is bullying or irrational hatred of any individual or group.

I have friends who are Moslem. I do not know one of them who is offended by any British, English, Welsh or Scottish custom. Neither am I remotely offended by Eid, Ramadan or any observance at Chinese new year etc etc etc. Where does this idea of 'offence' come from?

These cultures ,as are those of Jews and Christians, are 1000's of years old and have been robust enough to survive without the sight of a few lights at Christmas threatening their survival, or indeed people celebrating Eid.

The PC brigade are racist through and through. They find hate and stir up non existent issues wherever they go usually where it never existed. Political Correctness is a self serving industry that thrives in a culture of hate created by the PC culture itself.

I despise them........just thought I'd point that out in case you hadn't noticed

My pleasure Andy and what you say is exactly what I meant anyway, just put differently. I certainly was not blaming any immigrants and that should be clear from my posts.

I agree Paul, no one has stopped me living as I want so far, as I said, but I worry about the future when if this PC culture gets stronger as it could well do, and as it has done so far, then that sort of situation could well arise. That is what I object to.

I remember that business about the motor 'bikes and the working directive as well and also the latest one about them wanting to replace the "Red Duster" on merchant shipping with an EU flag, they wanted some time ago to replace the Union Flag in the Red Duster with the EU circle of stars. It may seem a small thing but it is more than that. It is an intrusion by the EU into our own traditions which I for one would prefer to keep. They have conveniently forgotten the rejection of the EU constitution but I hope that we continue to keep them at bay.

My choice is to remain British than to be lumped together with all the other countries in some kind of cobbled up and repressive federation of countries which all have different cultures and traditions anyway. Trading is fine however as far as I am concerned.

Les
