Which still means you have no idea what the military way of life is pete.

The reason our armed forces are as good as they are is there is a little term we use "Mission command" research it

If they did just do what they were told then the NCO´s wouldnt have been doing that, condradiction for tea anyone.

I can and have survived in civvy street and you know what its better here.
Not everybody claims to know everything about everything

Id like to meet you and tell me this **** to my face

Lets face it pete everybody takes orders. Your ****ing precious goverment tells you to pay your taxes and you do.

Your mum told you to wash your hands before dinner

You had a job once before going into the home and guess what you were told what to do lol

Yeah, Yeah .... another person wanting to end my life 3 years early!! That doesn't worry me one bit ..... I've yet to see the forces personnel that can stop a shotgun round and still punch my lights out!!

And you are BACK in the Army then?? Bit tough outside was it? Didn't like thinking alone? Back in your comfort zone with someone shouting orders in your face mixed in with the spit and gob??

You know nothing pslewis! Unless you have personally served, then you know f*ck all!!!!!

Not once in my time in Iraq etc. was I ever told what to do! I know my job, and I just get on with. I had to deal with the Iraqi public, Army and Police, everyday, in my time over there, which requires a great deal of patience and diplomacy. If I was one of these so called 'robots' that you perceive us all to be, then I wouldnt have been able to do this.

Yes, alot of ex-servicemen find it hard to adapt to civilian life.
Mainly the ex-privates who are used to be told what to do all the time, and the ex-warrant officers who are used to telling people what to do all the time.

But many more civilians attempting to join the Armed Forces find it too tough!

You should have abit more respect for the Girls and Boys serving in the Armed Forces. We are not all drunken animals!

no mate, I chose to join and have remained here for nearly twelve years. Who said anything about ending your life early. I wouldnt waste the eneregy mate. Would be nice to have a chat though.

You really do have no idea about military life or you would be giving reasons for why it may have happened.

If you did know anyone in the military it was probably the pay corp types.

I really cant beleive you actually know anyone in a teeth arm.

You are funny

Oh and there was a guy who was shot with a shotgun during a robbery at a service station, and he still tackled one of the armed robbers

hide behind your little gun and your keyboard LMFAO

WHAT???

Where the hell did I say you were all drunken idiots??

At no time have I ever thought of you as drunken idiots - you clearly have that stereo type in your head??

Never mind ......

Don't show yourself up by saying you acted independantly in Iraq - what are you, some knid of mercenary??

Maybe you are the commander in chief and are keeping it secret from us??

Just for the record i dont have people shouting at me. When you dodged drafting back in the day that was how it was.
Im entrusted with 4.7million quids worth of kit to manouvre round the battle field looking out for my crew and other crews within the troop.

Did you look up mission command yet pete.

The basics are your average joe ie you couldnt possibly be able to deal with this sort of stuff. Thats why you pay me my wages, and ive loved living in germany for 11 years tax free

When we arent doing that we are back filling the infantry commitments. ie foot patrols etc. I worked along side the marines in Iraq in 03 and they were good. That said no more special than any infantry regiment i have worked with either.

They have tougher training and they deploy from a ship. nothing else is really different.

Anyway they stated after working with one of our squadrons they never wanted to deploy without armour with them again.

Because of that my squadron is training to be readily deployable with these type of units, using a special lightweight armoured vehicles.
Back on topic
I wouldnt call em a bunch of homo´s anyway. Yes the military is open to homosexuals but some units you could get away with it theirs is one i think not. Besides what does it matter if they are? They can still do the job 99.9% need not apply and all that.

or maybe you're just a jabbering anus lewis. your ill-informed inanity once again scales new heights of drivel.

JFK once said that it was better to risk being thought an idiot than to open your mouth and confirm it. i guess you missed that one.

I was going to make a nasty comment on Mr Lewis, however thanks to Wrxtankie and Cyprus scooby for beating me to it, i have been serving now for 14 years and have been to 7 operational thertre's. i have been involved in the sport you seen on the telly, its usually called "Roll Mat Boxing" and many a close sopport unit does have little competitions to channel agression etc but in a controlled enviremont and with clothes on and stopped at the sign of any danger of injury.

the footage you seen was terrible and should not be allowed to escape punishment, especially the NCO's who should know better.

I won't bore you with things i have seen and done, but i beleive i am a intelligent person who can make my own decisions in life and for you to attack our forces like that gets you the contempt you deserve.
would be intresting to give your opinions to your friends faces.
Keep us posted.
Will keep you in mind next year when i'm in Afhganistan stopping the heroin reaching our shores, thanks to all who back the forces.

Mac.

Highly amusing , but anyone who did well in any special or secret service WILL look forward to earlier retirement from the forces, and a good chance of highly paid security / body-guard work thereafter. They are well embursed for tough risky work. My brother in law is on more than 40k and he's only 29.

Why do you need to be clever to collect shopping trollys in Morrisons carpark? Hmm... I suppose getting that high vis vest on the right way round is probably a bit of a challenge.

Yep and moving to one of my properties in Canada where I will look for something to do with my time.

Yeah, sounds like a voice of experience mate the kids getting to you.
If you are so clever and your job pays so much why do you drive a couple of cheap jap motors and hang around on a board with all the mere mortals?

I feel sorry for you pete i really do. Poor little man

The national average wage is approx 27k not 40k. Personally i think 40k is a very good salary. But then i'm only on 18000, and i'm not too unhappy with that. How can you say 40k a year isn't a good salary, even if you earn more than that?

Sorry mate .............. I guess it depends on where you are.

The fact with where I work is we WANT to recruit 50 staff A MONTH - for 3 years!!

And offering £40k isn't getting many applicants ..............

The people we want are on twice that, sadly

Got any jobs going up there? I'd do practically anything for 40k. What is it doing exactly? (PM me if necessary).
