Is a surprisingly good read btw ..

Oh, and TNG Best of Both Worlds part 1&2 tipped it , though DS9 recovered from a terrible start with the Dominion Wars...

TNG All the way.
Consistency of excellent & original story lines. Best of Both Worlds was outstanding.
Surprisingly good acting and a great attention to detail that was carried through to later versions & spin offs. I like the way it mostly played to the tech trekkie who wanted 'realism'....
DS9 played the humour card too often and took the edge off and Enterprise took it too seriously.

TNG for me. Never got into DS9 or Enterprise (I think doing a prequel to TOS was a mistake) Voyager is growing on me, but I think they used the Borg too much.
Too many TNG great episodes to mention, but without question “Best of Both Worlds” was a fantastic 2 parter for many reasons, one being that at the end of the series Patrick Stewart had not signed up to do another series & was indicating that he might not do so, so instead of the “he is bound to escape” thinking, there was a real possibility that it was the end for Pickard.

I'd agree with both of those. However I really quite liked the lightheartedness of The Voyage Home

Agreed, DS9 started off very badly. Then they got the Defiant and suddenly they could get about a bit and it got MUCH better. Then the Jem Hadar, Dominion, Cardassian and Shapeshifters storylines later on were very good indeed.

Movie wise, deffo First Contact followed by Wrath Of Khan. FC gave us something much lacking (or some can argue totally missing) from Trek films/series up to then which was character flaws. I remember reading an interview with one of the TNG cast who said that none of the characters could have any “flaws” – for example hate/revenge/addiction they all had to be “perfect” no-one ever argued or had a drink problem and this was quite boring to play for a cast of actors wanting the most from their roles.
In First Contact we see Pickard on a blinkered revenge mission to kill the Borg that violated him, we see him have a toe-toe argument with Worf where he calls him a coward & orders him off the bridge (ever seen such conflict before in the other TNG films or series?) Then he loses it & trashes his ready-room.
Stewart in particular was given a much more free-reign to explore the darker side of Pickard’s character & this helped the movie no end.
It was a shame that this took a step backwards in the next film “Insurrection” which looked & felt like just an extended TNG episode, but re-appeared again in “Nemesis” with Pickard facing up to his clone, though in that film the rest of the cast hardly got a look in and they also cut severely one of THE most important parts of the film which was the TNG crew dispanding & saying good-bye to each other, this was cut down to Riker & Pickerd just saying farewell & shaking hands with a bit of dialog, apparently much much more was filmed and then cut from the film, quite why I don’t know.

Voyager and DS9 are the best for me. I simply cannot get into Enterprise at all. Just seems so wooden and boring compared to Voyager and DS9. Haven't watched a single episode of Enterprise all the way through, I hate it that much.

NEXGEN for me. Patrick Stewart's Picard was brilliant.

Darmok and Gehadd at Tinargra. Darmok on the ocean.
