I do not wish to be disrespectful to Richard in any way with this post but.....
''would you **** him?''
Scoobynet has loads of threads running on Richard and quite rightly so but in a 24 hour period we also managed around 10 pages on whether Ellen Mc Carthy is worth a **** or not.
Double standards or what?
My own comment is that I didnt know Richard personally, as so many of you appear to have, but sorry deep regret that the only English world champion was taken way way before his time. RIP

The point is that a tragic thing happens, yes it was awful and unfair IMHO........So what happens scoobynet go on a crusade to donate money, have a meet, do this that and the other. All very noble, if a little OTT. But at the very same time SN are being totally disrespectful to another brilliant person, IMHO one who is at least as worthy as Richard.
Im glad to see that the Ellen thread has now been Deleted. Best thing for it too.

So what happens scoobynet go on a crusade to donate money
the reason for the donation is that Richard Burns' Family requested this rather then flowers and such so that is what we have done. Respected their wished. All money to go to cancer research.
Can i just add that the donations have spread out far futher then scoobynet & the Subaru community to other forums such as vauxhall, corsa, supra, etc etc. Richard was adored by rally fans, not just Subaru fans (something the RB5 OC have noticed doing these stickers)
I can see what you're saying about disrespect for Ellen McCarthy (not seen the thread myself) if she is worth a **** or not. (but there's always muppets around to start stuff like this off) In sailing terms she probably is worth the status that Richard Burns had in rallying terms.
i doubt the thread would have existed if she wasnt on top gear on sunday, do you?
