Q: Omega Seamaster
#61
I've had my Automatic Seamaster for 5 years. Not had it serviced. It loses no more than a few seconds a month, and I'm chuffed with it. The bracelet and clasp is scratched but the face is not.

You old boys and your chunky crap.
You need some elegance in your lives......
Don't know how much time it loses, have not had it long enough.

I tried a few on and bought the one I liked.......chunky metal don't do it for me.....it had to have a leather strap. Besides, I went in there to buy an engagement ring, I know nothing about watches other than what I liked on my wrist on that day

Whats the deal with IWC then? I know they are highly regarded by those into watches but why? Also why had I not heard of them up until about a year ago? Was it just ignorance on my part?

IWC are the M5 to Rolex's 911; decidedly non-flash, and unknown to the average punter. Marvellous engineering though, and (almost) worth the money.

The one which performed the best was the mid sized quartz.....thats why I havent sold it..
Ive gone off Omega's.....they are not of the quality that I thought they were.
The older the model the better the quality and precision...
I would invest your money in a £1250+ Breitling if I was you.
If you are not going to wear your watch 24-7, I suggest you buy a quality Quartz, as an auto will need re-setting if you leave it for 24hrs or so.
Once its reserve expires due to lack of movement it stops.
If you want quality at a good price search for POLJOT..and study the form..
If you want a second wrist model, run your preferance past me through PM, and I will see whats in my vault..
Later Yoza.
PS..About time we had a watch thread, Ive had withdrawal symptoms of late..

If it's the one you want and like then it's the right watch for you. I sat in the shop for 2hrs alternately trying on a Seamaster and a Breitling Avenger, there was really nothing in it and i think I'd have been equally happy with either.
Post a pic when you get it.

Had my Seamaster Chronometer for eight years.
Wear it 24/7 and it has taken serious abuse at work. It's got a scratch on the bezel and on the clasp but that is all.
