Exactly mate, he thought HIS was being nicked ; ie: he comes outside minus his glasses, it`s a dark (ish) alleyway, 4 in the morning don`t forget, and he hasn`t seen the woman park the Mondeo up the night before, so he thinks his is the only one down there.

Coupled with the fact that it`s now running, and all he can see is headlights, he goes mental................. , and is even prepared to attack what he thinks is his own car, just to try and get at the occupant.

Get it now ?

He attacks Mrs Y`s daughter`s car, thinking that he`s attacking his own.

He presumes it`s his own coz he can`t see properly (no specs on), it`s dark, and his is the only one ever to get parked down there.
