Gotta hand it to you Colin, you got a rwd shed for 20 notes, which runs and isn't a sierra! Cant wait to see it, although I will not be in edinburgh till next weekend and I fully expect that by then, it will be upside down in a ditch somewhere, have a blown engine or have been kicked to bits street fighter 2 style!

Better in that the transaxle was designed for the car; rather than cribbed from a bloated Audi 100..... Look closely at all '24/'44 gearboxes (with the exception of the '68 6-speed) and youll see that the bellhousing is still there...!

Just had word from deuchars that the volvo rally/drift project has had a slight set back. Apparantly the rear suspension is now broken as a result of too much drifting. A bit of emergency welding to bypass the suspensio and it will be back i'm told.

Default THE VOLVO IS BACK

Thanks ali, yeah the volvo couldn't really manage todays rally action and the front suspension gave way. Thankfully a friend managed to weld some parts in, not sure how long it will last.

Sadly thats the end of the drift machine, the clutch completely went in a cloud of smoke which was kind of funny if nothing else. Not sure if its worth buying another clutch any idea of price guys???

Nothing on paper, it's been on & off the road quite a lot over the past year while I've been doing work to it. Mapped it myself with Megasquirt ECU, in the middle of fitting spark control to it so I can have control of ignition timing as well as fuelling.
Stock is 180hp at 7psi & we're running more like 16psi. Approx an 8hp gain per psi over stock. All unnecessary extra weight, towbar, aircon, all boot trim etc has been stripped. Anything visible has been left standard so it looks stock from outside. Only things in the interior are Veilside steering wheel, Greddy BspecII & a Boost gauge. Wideband O2 & ECU in glovebox.
They are actually pretty light as stock so with all the weight reduction it should be under 1300kgs, next step is some bucket seats in to get rid of the heated leccy stock seats which weigh a ton.

Looking at height/rebound/bound adjustable suspension & 2-way LSD next & we should be ready for some proper drifting action next year

Jay
