Pfff call yourself a Scooby owner, people think I am mad for fixing mine, but if I claim I won't get insurance again (quotes have been £6000+) I couldn't bear to be without a Scooby after getting my hands on one. It may only be a 94 WRX, but she is mine and a cracking little beast - she certainly proved herself against a P1, nearly outrunning it several times, only problem was lack of overtaking points......failed to win against the roadsign though

Leigh, sorry to hear that you ain't comin nah!

Also don't be put off owning a scoob just cos you've got one that's developed a difficult fault to diagnose, all cars are susceptable to this type of stuff. I had an Astra Coupe for about 3 weeks and during that time, the ECU screwwed up, the Air con gave up the ghost and the electric windas used to have a mind of thier own, still thought it was a cool car though

I think you should come in the Coupe Who else agrees?

Leigh, go in the Astra mate; you might stop this time! As for me not going quicker enough, it was because I was following Mikey, Trouser and Craigamungos, they were obvioulsy slowing us both down!!

Mikey, thanks for adding us to the list for Saturday - can't wait!.....but should just mention its Lizzywizz not Izzywizz!

Dare I ask if offspring are allowed? - I have one scooby mad, very demanding 12 year old lad stamping his feet cuz I told him he couldn't go!! Your decision of course will be final!!

Lizzy,

By all means bring ya nipper (get 'em early i say ) but please be aware that he will be in an adult environment and as such may hear the odd swear word, the odd bit of **** take or even worse, he may overhear Salsa and Trouser vying with Mellow Yellow to get MichelleWRX1994s' female attention

Anyways, the more the merrier

So on a generic basis here is some more detail about our route.

It is exactly 50 miles
It has Long Straight Bits
It has Twisty Bits
It has very little traffic
It has very few Junctions
There are a few Bridges/tunnels
There is a hump backed bridge
The scenery is rural
The pubs are
There are 4 Dayz left.

Put ya names down. Mike Tuckwood, r u gracing us with ya presence?

r u not coming now?

Phil
My scoob has some SERIOUS problems, spewing out coolant and overheating!
(See my post in 'Drivetrain')
If I came in the astra coupe it wouldn't be quite the same, eh!
I'm leaving the scoob with Roger Clark's for a week when I go on holiday on the 12th to see if they can sort it. It's starting to look like one of three things:
1)Airlock in the system (I *really* hope it's this!)
2)Knackered radiator (£640 + fitting )
3)Head Gaskets (BIG money engine out job, - if it's this I'm gonna take it to some unfortunate grey import dealer and part-ex it in! There's NO way I'm spending over £1k fixing a bloody 95 WRX! )

See you at the next meet, maybe not in a scoob, I doubt I'll be buying another!

Have a good one!
Leigh

Craig, it's on me list

R U sure you'll be able to stop after the 1/4 mile

Calling MichelleWRX1994,

Having had a quick chat to Trouser, who is in scotland at the mo, mixing it with the Haggis, he informs me that TSL are waiting for you to send some bits to enable them to finish the car off for ya.

Sort it out girl

It would be to have a "presenting" the keys type of ceremony wadduya say ?

Cool

Not putting a damp squib on things but is this going to be a 'cruise' or is it going to be a 'race you until one of us dies or the police pull us over' type affair?

Just looking out for the safety of all involved and the innocents that get cut up along the way

Mike you mentioned a tunnel....how long, and how many of us will fit through at once?
Anyone got a tape recorder to capture the moment?

Bless you trusty Nott'm boyz to keep me on da straight and narrow

Salsa, if you reckon that all i'm capable of plotting is a 25 mile treck out of Nottingham, followed by a 25 mile treck back in again..........HELLO

I have to entertain people coming from far and wide ya knows

Hanslow, i'm afraid it's more of a longish/biggish bridge that we go under, Good for a drop down into 2nd and boot it wiv ya window down type moment as opposed to a dartford tunnel type of affair. Soz but there just ain't any descent tunnels out in the sticks

With regards to convoy size, I have two choices really, 1) One long convoy intermittentley peppered by non scoobs (Hey presto, little convoys) or 2) 2 Medium convoys, with Student Bloke looking after them. He helped me with the Recce so knows the route fairly well.
It depends on final numbers. The roads are long and twisty for the main, interspersed by some long straights to allow the craigs of the world to catch up .
It will be V.Difficult to get lost if you follow the directions on the route card (which will be provided in laymans terms )
as we are essentially hopping from one well signposted villiage to the next

This meet Laydees and Gents is a CRUISE, we have some newbies in tow and also I ain't risking my well endowed licence (9 points ) for anyone. These things are hard enough to control whilst concentrating on unfamiliar roads without factoring in excess speed aswell.

If ya wanna go daft, unsafe fast, use the M1

Anymore questions, greatfully recieved as it allows me to sort em out here and now instead of in the middle of a pub car park

4 dayz left oh boy, oh boy, oh boy

Talking

Two things, First i was thinking that if i
put wings on my car for santa pod
I might fly to spain for a quick holiday
Secondly, I was talking to a good friend of mine (traffic policeman) and he said that aslong as we drive carfully and with respect
to other road users then we shouldn't have a problem. There was a new rule brought out for the cruise's but that mainly applies to everning's and maxpower type cruises where
people are doing wheel spins etc etc.
So as long as we all drive properly we should all be ok

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>

So what where all those miners doing for the last couple of hundred years?

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR><B>If ya wanna go daft, unsafe fast, use the M1
When was the last time you went on the M1????

Mikey: More seriously, your best using a disclaimer at the top of the route card, and remind everyone "it is not a race, to drive at a pace they feel comfortable with and to observe ALL posted speed limits in villages etc".

Cheers, Charlie, I feel that coming on

Spoke to a few coppers today (OH yes I know a few ) from various divisions, Traffic included and believe it or not, Size DOES NOT MATTER (Im in :cool Convoys that is, the only grey area is the activities which take place whilst stationary. I.E if we all stopped at the side of the road and decided that this would be a good place to look at dump valves, not a problem......solong as we are not OBSTRUCTING the queens high way or causing a disturbance/distraction to other road users or residents. Sounds fair to me. The grey area is what is classed as an official distraction? I mean, 1 LOUD Scoob surely can distract as much if not more than 20 standard scoobs!

The Max power Brigade cause problems for themselves at meets as some of them break highway laws, residential laws, and social laws all at the same time.

20+ Scoobs moving sensibly from villiage to village, will NOT be illegal.

Speeding from villiage to village without due care and dilligence to other road users and residents is bad though

Anyways, enuff ov that boring stuff, let me worry about that......Some good newz is that we may have an EVO6 amongst us, I know you will make him feel welcome, if he can make it.

So don't forget then, 12:30. Saturday 7th July, Full tanks (You will need at least a 3rd of a tank) a map book incase someone is a total muppet and gets lost, It's easy to get back on track (if you have a map book that is ), bags of enthusiasm, girlfriends, wives, kids, mates, whatever else and obviously don't forget ya rides .

Hanslow, dont forget the date eh

Thursday, Friday, Meetday

Hey kids!

Just back from seeing the Mcrelatives! Wow! those Scottish 'B' Roads!!

Well said, Steve et al!! We do need to be a tad sensible on this one. I think Mikey is quite possibly on the verge of creating a monthly event here of almost legendary proportions. If we stick by the rules.. it's just gonna get better and better. It only takes one "hero" to ruin it for all time.... for everyone!

If anybody is worried about being bored, driving at the legal limit, is more than welcome to drive behind the Trouser (ex)press where you will be doubly entertained by a 165 db exhaust ..... and me mobile disco!!

See you down the pub!

Mines a pint!!! (of shandy, officer!)

Cheers

Trouser

ps. If anyone has any technical probs/ questions etc.. we will be happy to try and sort u out when u drop into ours!
