How to spot unmarked police cars ?

I think double-crewed cars are pretty rare these days - most I see (marked or otherwise) seem to be single crew. And as stated, they have a single aerial that looks like a phone aerial, so that doesn't work. They mostly have alloy wheels too, so the missing wheel covers are no longer a giveaway.

Fact is that the government are concentrating on the theory that speed causes accidents, it dosent its inapropriate speed & poor driving. Driving standards are falling, standards of car maintenance are falling yet people arent being stopped because there arent enough Police on the roads to enforce it. When you drive at night count the number of cars with defective lights. Years ago that was an invitation to be stopped today theres nobody there to do it or perhaps, is it that its too much paperwork to bring a prosecution that may well be argued in court, thus taking up more Police time therefore its not "cost effective"
Either way the continual fixation with speed is meaning that large numbers of peole who considered themselves to be law abiding are getting criminal records for doing only very slightly over the limit which is giving them a bad feeling about the Police. In time this will lead to the Police becoming more isolated, a bad thing for society as a whole.
For those who say its not a criminal record it is, I recently did some work in a Prison & I had to declare any criminal convictions prior to getting clearance to enter & that included any driving convictions so that makes me a person with 2 criminal convictions.

Off topic slightly, but I've just moved to Texas, where there are no speed cameras, just the sheriff with his laser gun, but that's very, very rare.
You do occaisonally get a sheriff sitting near an intersection with "all-way" STOP signs, as they consider running a STOP sign to be far more dangerous and ticket worthy than speeding, which makes a lot of sense.
The traffic is heavy but all moves at at least the speed limit. The only down side here (once you've mastered people weaving and using any lane for overtaking) is that most of the smaller highways (10 lanes or less) only have yellow lines in the middle to seperate oncoming traffic, and considering lots of people have told me "drink driving is common here as the place is so big" ......
Oh, the other downside is the highest octane petrol is 93!!!!!!! In the oil state!
