@ Jack - supposing I wanted to pay for an anti-virus to be more secure, which is the most cost effective way to get McAffee?
On the website I see 'Internet security suite 8.0/2006' including VirusScan is £34.99, and VirusScan on its own is £39.99 ???
- still a lot for a home user who never seems to get problems whilst using 'free stuff'...

We do deals with a lot of ISP's and PC manufacturers, they get great deals for their users, generally below the price on our web site. The pricing on our website is always up the spout in some way!
Another way to get a good discount is to take a trial, as the trial nears it's end we'll be in touch with various levels of money off to tempt you to pay.
If you're not having a problem then either stay as you are or trial another product, you can always go back to the free stuff.

AOL offer 'Mcafee online virus scan' @ £2.49 per month = £30 a year... doe sthe online scan do the same job as the purchased package?
The McAfee US site seems cheaper - they want the same 'price number' in $ as the uk site wants in £
ie VirusScan at $39.99 http://us.mcafee.com/root/package.asp?pkgid=100
or at £39.99 http://uk.mcafee.com/root/upgradecen...D=P2&verID=V10
will the US one work on UK computers?
Unfortunately this sort of pricing structure seems very common with many companies...
