To be honest I've had a bit of a change of heart

I now realise that irresponsible cat ownership is selfish and damaging to native species so I'll be keeping the cat indoors from now on and will keep my toxoplasmosis to myself.

Thanks for your input!

Also, you can get toxoplasmosis from cat crap just the same as you can from dog crap

Cat crap does stink. If you think it doesn't then suggest to your neighbour that any cat crap he finds in his garden should be shovelled up and posted through your letter box
I blame the parents for not training their kittens to bury thier turds, very inconsiderate.........

I find that a few well aimed missiles deters cats from roaming in your garden.

a cat would win in a fight no problem, cos they fight like girls. cats do bury their crap, its probably a fox. the fox & cat would join forces & beat the crap out of a dog, then crap on it & its crap....

The council and police will do sod all, I've been through it all.

And last month we have had new neighbours across the road it's an old peoples warden controlled single bedroom bungalow and they have 7 cats, 2 rabbits and a six week old rotty pup.

Cheers

Would a fox win a fight against a dog? It does ok against chickens but a dog? hmmmmmmm. It would give a yourshire terrier a dry slap but im not sure once you get to beagle sized woofers. Mind you a pride of foxes might be different. Evil when they hunt as a bunch

I like cats, but would never own one because its basically not on having a pet which goes out killing wild animals and birds all the time, and roaming around other people gardens.

I can fully understand the appeal of cats, but IMO its selfish of the owners to have them and ignore their drawbacks.

Absolute bolloxs, my cats don't go out all the time and kill everything in the garden or our neighbours garden FFS

My brothers dog catches more small birds in a year than my cats they spend 99% of the time asleep in the house and mostly only go out at night,of course that's when all the wildlife is at it's peak!! I suppose and yes we are irresponsable cat owners because they all have liberator wildlife collars on,so that makes us selfish owners then and as you say ignore their drawbacks

Don't have that problem with my cats - all four of them are housecats and aren't let out. On the odd occasion that they do go out in the garden, they stay in it and come in when they're called.

My old black moggy ventured out into the front garden in her younger days and nextdoor's Staff decided it was lunch time. Eight legs, two tails and a lot of blood in the garden - not a mark on the cat

I think maybe the cat unlovers have a point. I didn't realise that my cat could cause a kid to go blind, so I am going to try an convert him to be a house cat.

Huxley - how did you train your cats to use the toilet?

why don't you get a cat flap and fit one of them garage door opening kits to it, and put the remote on the cats forehead with sellotape?

Its cruel to keep a cat indoors if he has been used to being outside.

Nope, my dog chased and caught a fox a few weeks ago in a field, he then proceeded to bum it

there is no choice but to get the police involved, this bloke is a bit of a local nutter and he knows some sorts aswell.
I dont why he has a big problem, he lets his dog do craps on the pavement, or in the park, and he's not the only one, my cats just doesnt go in his garden, and likewise other cats come in my garden aswell,,,everybody gets it.
Unless your cat is very fat or old or his dog is unusually stealthy, I suspect the cat will be over the fence before the dog gets anywhere near. The one exception is if the cat decides to try and front the dog out. One tried with ours and lost.

Karl....

You just don't get pet training like that over in the UK, its a shame, it could bring a whole new angle to saturday mornings for the gentry, and it would be sure to keep those animal welfare do-gooders at bay !

I have a cat. I don’t feed it on Tuesdays because I know on that night people put their rubbish out and my cat has a really good feed on all the left-overs There’s usually a bit of mess but I make sure I put my rubbish out in the morning so it doesn’t affect me My cat likes to **** in other people’s gardens but that’s nature isn’t it? You can’t stop birds crapping in your garden can you? Although getting cat crap on your hands when gardening can be a sticky smelly problem, but not for me as my cat doesn’t crap in mine

Basically your cat is doing no harm and if it was my cat he was threatening he'd could be hurt the next time he was out walking his dog in the park (the dog would be given a stroke and a couple of biscuits). The dog owner sounds like he doesn't like animals so he's a **** and shouldn't have his dog. As for you with the cat, you don't sound like you give a **** either so why post about it's welfare on here? Firstly get a cat flap if you like your cat. If you don't like your cat you're a **** for having one.
I would phone the police as it's the only way to warn the cretin next door off BEFORE something happens to the cat. Yes the police are useless but the only other alternative is to let him know what will happen if he doesn't chill out. But then what if he 'has you'. I don't know what he's like or what you're like. You're probably both pussies. Go to the police. I'd find it hard not to do something to your neigbour personally, but it sounds a little as if you deserve eachother, and that, as always, the animals are caught in the middle.
When will people realise that showing dis-regard for pets doesn't make them appear hard but in fact the complete opposite.
Both of you are neanderthals who couldn't punch through a wet paper bag (and that includes OllyK and a few others).

Pure class, but don't worry about it dude, I was like that after my first pint, you'll soon get used to it
