I trained and suggest the same to anyone else wanting to have a go. It's pretty easy to put bits of yourself into the prop if you're not in control of what is a very big and powerfull kite and the results are horrific, and that's before you get off the ground. I added the reserve chute after I put one of the control lines into the prop at 1000ft. I was a very lucky chap that day, I'll take a second chance over a little added weight and a few hundred quid.

This video shows what my setup can do Paramania Action although my flying has been a little more relaxed this year.

Nice toys everyone! Have fun, stay safe!!
Jack,
Very nice toy there ! I have been looking in to this over the past few days as the 10ft or so my kites lift me just isnt enough !
Looks like quite an expensive sport to get in to ??

Here's Chevy truck, 1959 vintage, slightly more modern 468ci big block V8, 450bhp & approx 500lb/ft torque, 3 speed auto, posi rear axle, vented discs all round, hoping for easy 12 second quarters in the new year.

You can pick up some second hand bargains on ebay and you see some quite cheap on www.paramotorsuk.co.uk As with anything the little things add up, helmet, radios, boots, gps... bla bla bla. You should be able to get up a whole lot higher than 10ft for £3,000. Average price for a new motor is £3,000 wings are between 1 and 2 grand new. Take a look at www.paramotorschool.com Mike's an Englishman based in France and does a 7day boot camp, well worth the trip.

Lots of people who fly them have kites for when the winds up, it's a bit daunting lofting a 25sq mtr wing in more than 10mph with a spinning propeller on your back.

Two of my six favourite hobbies...

There's also the running of this place and the 'restoration' of this...

Not to mention trying to get this place up to scratch...

It's almost at a stage where we're happy with it now. Second bloody suite bought yesterday and driveway tarmac due to go down early '06.

ES125 is a lovely guitar Graham and the '48 seems more than a little bit special. I am born of the Noel Gallagher generation hence the Epi Riviera and USA Tele. Also have a Epi LP and PR350 acoustic plus a couple of others not worth mentioning. I want to find an early 80's Jap Riviera and shift the sunburst one and when funds allow i will one day own a proper Gibson Les Paul. Can't believe you sold a Verithin!

Got a couple of jobs i want done before a new car arrives, not least the driveway. Have noted serious interest in an RA though.
