Given his location I'd say Bisley ranges.

And yes you can shoot and own them as a civvy. When they brought in the knee jerk handgun ban, they allowed long barreled revolvers to be kept. Thinking long barrels and wrist braces are hard to conceal (and it brings it over the minimum length of a rifle so isn't governed by the pistol laws)

I'm heading down to Bisley in a few weeks with a friend of the familly who used to take me shooting, I thought it was all CO2 target pistols now and long range stuff for the civvies..

Whats it like trying to get a license for something like that? I was to young pre97 to get into it properly, got to shoot a few 35's but nothing bigger.. I've got a shed load of de-acts and replica 'TOYS' now though lol..

No problem getting a license assuming you have a 100% clean record and can prove good reason for possesion - i.e. I compete in pistol competitions so thats a perfectly good reason, I'm also too young to have tried the real stuff pre 97 but you can get loads of toys even now, and just to prove this post is not a thread hijack here are some more of my favourite toys which I also use in competitions, both semi auto but only .22 calibre.
