the G/F likes monkfish

I wouldnt bother with the GF sticky....
Monkfish has a vey similar texture to scampi, but with a different taste altogether, it doesnt need loads spicing up to appreciate the flavour ...
cut into smallish chunks, breadcrumbs/shallow fried in olive oil & garlic, with baby spuds and a cheese & herb sauce over spuds is very nice, and simple.
If you can be arsed, and have a garage and a gas BBQ, give it a wazz on that as opposed to the GF...get the fish soaking in olive oil, garlic, onions, chillis, lemon juice and S&P, for a good 24hrs beforehand, brush with oil and chuck it on the BBQ....or oven roast the fish in its marinade, then strain off veg from the roasted marinade, and make a sauce with the juices+white wine+cream

Dunno why I always reply to these...
GF, AIUI, drains the fat out. So if you have no fat to start with (steak), you get cardboard. If you have sossies, then you get fat-free sossies - healthy, but if you wanted healthy you wouldn't eat sossies to start with.
Micky, try fatty stuff like pork ribs or lamb. (PS I've never even seen a GF, sounds like a Breville for meat, so if it comes out crap, don't blame me OK? )

Like everything, too much fat is not good for you, nor is too much alchohol...etc, etc..... It amazes me how the human race has managed to get to 2,000,000? years old, without the help of these healthy lifestyle appliances.
If you live on a staple diet from the local chip or kebab shop, then expect heart disease. Eating a nice steak or two per week cooked on a grill, or in a griddle pan will not put you in an early grave.
I only look at it one way really....I expect to see about 70ish yeas of age,and I'm nearly halfway there now. Food for me is one of life's pleasure's, not just a nessecity, so why should I ponce about eating crap untasty food that I don't really like, just to squeeze another year or so out of the game?
I just cant see the point of GF grills, sorry!

A GF grill does not get hot enough to properly grill, fry meat. As this is the case the moisture inside the meat has boils so therefore the meat is stewed rather than properly grilled.
For those who swaer by a GF use one side by side with a red hot cast iron griddle then tell me which steak tastes better.
I guarantee the griddle will win hands down.
Chip

I cannot see the point of these toys either, my normal grill drains fat away from my sausages better than some silly toy can do, oh and bacon wont crisp like it does on a proper grill
