Glad you are ok!
Samething happened to me with my scoob, except I was doing 100mph and didn't make the bend and the car drove up against the wall and turned over and slided on its roof for about 100m. Walked away with just a deep cut on my arm because of all the broken glass. Was driving the next day with my civic.
The accident put a big hole in my pocket (financially) but I lived to say that I managed to flip an Impreza which initially is design to have a low centre of gravity.

tyres weren't even to wear bands! Seriously the road was very slippy. I tried to pull my car forward a bit afterwards and it was wheelspinning loads. Very slippy underfoot too!

That road is VERY grooved from trucks. It was also very slippy. We had just overtaken a couple of cars who were doing 40k!!!

Someone had to say it! These accidents don't happen if your doing 30MPH. I feel genuinely sorry for Si, but when someone makes i point about not being about the NSL, that shouldn't matter!
You travel along the road which suits the conditions and it's already been spoken about it was very slippery underfoot and car's have been overtaken in those coditions! If you look at the tyre marks in the first set of photo's, it looks like you were on the wrong side of the road to begin with?!

very nasty, you are all lucky to have walked away. Current road conditions aren't ideal for driving any car, and as we know, Impreza's aren't indestructable. At least it looks like no other cars/vehicles/pedestrians got involved in the accident itself.

Well i was going faster than him at the time, in a snappy RWD car. According to your logic I should be upside down in a field. I wasn't unlucky enough to hit the bump or lip or whatever it was that got his backend snaking. The skidmarks come from the otherside of the road because as it was snaking he went over to the wrong side of the road and hit the mud which chucked him in the direction of the skids. It was lucky there was nowt coming!

Not being mindreaders, I'm not entirely sure how we should know what this road was like. The farmer who's field it was came out and said cars are sliding off there daily, and none of them are speeding. The road has been widened and widened over time without reinforcement. Its an almost straight road, you should be able to do 60 without getting thrown off the road. Bear in mind all the trucks making the ridges are also spraying diesel fumes onto the floor.

As for being slippery underfoot - well you've got us on that one. We didn't stop on every road and get out to see if it was slippery. Journeys would take a long time if you stopped to check every road. It may well have been too fast for the road but I don't understand how you think we should know that. All the other roads were fine! My car didn't feel particularly slidey when moving down there, just unsettled by the tracks, so I know an AWD will have returned nothing.

I've never crashed a car by falling off the road, maybe you have and thats how you now magically know these things.

Sorry to hear about the car - glad you got out OK.

All I would say is that the poster and fellow "defenders of the crown" should know by now that Scoobynet has a "holier than thou" element (not having a go @ StickyMicky - honest!), and by posting this type of post, you should expect to cop some flack for it.

The key thing is that nobody was hurt (thankfully) and that the car can be replaced.
(hopefully with something without those rear lights!! )
