All I would say is that the poster and fellow "defenders of the crown" should know by now that Scoobynet has a "holier than thou" element (not having a go @ StickyMicky - honest!), and by posting this type of post, you should expect to cop some flack for it.

especially when earlier on we are told that they were overtaking stuff that was going slower
so sidhead, if you were going faster then him at the time, but you were behind him, does that mean you were just about to overtake him, or were you just flying up behind him for a laugh in your convoy?
or were you infront of him at the time?
your mate says you were folling him, but you say you were going faster then him??

As i said, one car, then si and then another (convoy of 4) had overtaken a slow moving vehicle. I had to wait to pass it, so i was on catch up once i had. Hence was going quicker when i see further up the road Si is snaking. I was still a few hundred feet behind. It looked like he was just gonna spin it in the middle of the road, then woosh off he went.
Since i first joined scoobynet i've been going to places with other cars in convoy, and this is the first time in 4yrs an incident has occured. I havent once seen any racing in our convoys. Certainly was no point the other day as the cars were not evenly matched!! We were simply driving back from somewhere together.
I drive much much faster when not in convoy and overtake all manner of stuff going slower than me. You must just sit behind it like a sheep.

If you were busy getting ready to, or actually in the middst of it, how could you see what Si was doing to get into the problem of snaking?
I do a lot of recovery work, as well as body repair. We used to in fact, do Police crashes, so i know first hand what damage comes of what driving.
Why has no-one explained the tyre tracks coming from the wrong side of the road? If he had to use the entire width of the road, then he must have been going some.
I seem to remember a post a few months back wheresome guy on here wrapped his car and near enough everyone jumped on and put him down.
Many a times have i been speaking to someone who has just been in an accident and the first things out their mouths are "I wasn't speeding!". That's all well and good, but like i said it all depends on road conditions. If it had 10 inches of snow, i doubt you'd still do the NSL.

Why do people seem to assume that the only person at fault was the driver, what about all the salt on the road making it slippery, and thats not mentioning the crap from the field.......... i'm sure the pictures wheren't put up here to give the guy a hard time, he more than likely wanted a bit of sympathy..........how would you feel if your your pride and joy just got bent........??

the farmer whose field i sort of ended up in said that there had been lots of people coming off the road there just in normal cars aswell. the skid marks that you can see on the other side of the road are from where the car snapped back, i didn't just drive straight into the bush.

you must have been going at a fair rate of knots to do that damage. you hit anyone else???
now i know why i pay a hefty sum for my insurance. just because they can go fast doesnt mean you have to do it!!!
sorry mate, but ive got no sympathy for anyone who smashes up on a what looks like a perfectly good day.
unless there was ice about?? but still, you should drive as per the conditions.
You should thank the big man upstairs for letting you walk away from that mess.

This road is terrible in the wet you could loose a small convoy of immigrants in those ruts.... so if you are not in 'em and comin back into them from the other side then no matter what speed t'll throw the car out... the fact that other people have crashed there shows that..
Ohmygoditsblue... as far as no sympathy for people on a perfectly good day... there'll be a queue from Worcstershire waiting at your house if your car ever gets pranged to laugh at you

Looks gents, the crooks of the matter is that Preza Si has had a bit if a mishap. Lets not turn this into a "I told you so" thing and start pointing fingers, etc..... because it doesn't do anyone any good. The thing is that Si got away with a few scratches and be thankkful for that. The car can be replaced later. Just bring on the "get well soon stuff" and none of this "speeding" etc jibe. For christ's sake, the man has lost one of his pride and joys and some of you insensitive guys are adding salt to the wound. Keep your views of "didn't say I told you so" to yourselves please. Everyone makes mistakes - doesn't mean you can pick on them and drag a man when he's down.
There that said. Si - I still got your immob fob.

Traveling at below the national speed limit could well account for this kind of accident given bit of ice or diesel or even just a dodgy surface.
To be honest, I wouldn't be trying overtaking in the conditions we've had recently, but hindsight is 20:20 and the poor chap probably realises this and has just lost his pride and joy car, so a bit of restraint on our parts is in order I think. That's not having a go at you Drb5.
We just need to be aware that these conditions can make muppets out of the best of us - and great though scoobies and Evos are- they won't help much when you hit ice, thus we all need to check in our complacency and be especially careful.
I recall a road tester crashing an Evo MR320 after proclaiming it to be "seemingly impossible to wrong foot it" and by his own admission, he just went to mad on a greasy roundabout!

Bit late but never the less, glad to see you came out virtually un-scathed.
We all push the limits from time to time & occasionally they bite back, whatever the reason, ' it's good to see/hear that your ok '
The car, yes it's a shame, but car's can be replaced.....
All the best prezza si
