Weights with common options that people put back in would be nice as well - so with central locking, electric windows, air con and stereo?

Hi John,
The most common weights from Subaru are as follows:
MY06 Spec C with A/C, Electric windows & central locking etc 1,390kg
Subaru shows the A/C as weighing £20kg
MY06 JDM STI 1,460kg
MY06 UK STI 1,495kg

Thanks Iain, so the Spec C is near identical in weight to the Evo IX GT. Do you know what explains the difference between UK and JDM STis? What about between the WRX and UK STI? Brakes, hubs, 6MT, slightly heavier intercooler/turbo, bigger tyres?

Just for interest I now have my Spec C run in and 'tuned up' by Rich at Powerstation - thank you.

The car was held back a little as I could not source any of my usual Optimax en route from York and had to make do with normal SUL. Even so - the standard car fitted only with a Miltek hi-flow cat and exhaust (which is road legal - not a decat pipe like many) the car made 341bhp with 460nm of torque.

These cars are making this power very easily - I was looking for the why are Scoobs so expensive to get power from compared to Evos thread...well I am not sure as this was not an expensive upgrade. The exhaust was extra, the Ecutek map was part of the sale price from Iain

Rich has promised to remap it for free when I have some Optimax and expects around 350-355bhp.

As for the driving - brilliant. The car is very lively with incredible throttle response from 3,000rpm. The power band is very wide and I am not sure I am will be missing the extra 0.5l the UK cars are offering.

I can still feel the car as I powered off a cambered roundabout at such pace today - my Sti V was never even 50% of this good

The weight differences are quite shocking really and in reality do make a difference. Take the MY06 Spec C to the MY06 UK STi - that's 231lb's difference, which is 16.5 stone

My MY03 Spec C weighs in at about 1320kg's at present so that is about 27 stone difference to a current MY06 Uk STi.

The weight advantages of these Spec C's are especially good at Christmas..... It means you can eat more and still have an advantage!

David,
Saw you're Spec C yesterday, while I popped in to use Powerstation's excellent toilet facilities!

Nice looking motor.

Regards,
Shaun.
