there was an article in the paper yesterday about the job center refusing an advert by a builder for a chippy because one requirement was "has to speak english". They claimed it was racist and the man was informed he may have broken the law. what the hells going off?!

its true that all this PC bolloc*s is really undermining the country to quite an extent...unfortunately, theres not a great deal that can be done about laws/regulations that are put into effect against public opinion, but surely we can fight this PC crap at some level..?!

That should be the attitude!
What is wrong with some people in this country do they want it to fail?!?
I feel the BNP and other radical right wing parties are just going to gain from this sort of bollox.

imagine the uproar if he'd been stationed in blackburn, scraping up wreckage at accident blackspots?. or blackpool. or the black country. what happens when blackberries are on the canteen menu? what about captain black in captain scarlet? or (whoa) black betty (bam-ba-lam) by ram jam? or black dog by zep?
how about catching some criminals? now there's a radical thought.
just more public sector comedy. must have been a slow news day.

Me? Racist? Surely not?
I'm getting tired of the 'race' card being played at every opportunity. What makes me more angry is the PC lobby who collapse whenever this joke card produced.
I notice that he doesn't complain that the Black Police Officers Association. Or that whites do not complain about it. That is because people can discriminate between the use of the word black in an accepted social contex, (such as this museum), and when someone is being racist. As the Black Police Officers Association website says, black is not a reference to skin colour. So, as long as people with a minority skin colour use the word black it's ok, even if it is in a negative context. The word black does have many historical contexts which are negagative (such as black magic) but I and most people on this website know it is not used in a racist context and we can tell the difference, such as when it's used in a museum. I'm very offended that this copper thinks that everyone has the same lack of intelligence as he does. It's only a race issue because he has made it one.
Just a thought, but does the existance of the BBC Asain Network imply that all non Asains are racist?
