tell you something, the last time i heard so much bitching about what people have got, was at school. weve all got our cas the way we want, like and enjoy them. so why dont people grow up and talk about things in and adult manner.

My MY00 had a Forge VTA already on it when I bought the car. One of the first things I did was swap it back to standard! The car ran a lot better after that too. They're not for me!

Not sure about that one When you lift off ie shut the throttle you stop feeding the turbo. The only way to keep it spining is to fit anti-lag.
The relatively small amount of what was pressurised air that's released into the inlet track via a re-circ dump valve will do squat to maintain boost pressure.

Perhaps at the next big Scooby meeting all the keyboard cowboys can come over to any one with a dump valve, large back box etc.. and tell us we are Chavs, maybe that would stop all these crap topics and people on here can get on with enjoying their cars no matter what they have had to done to them.

Please point to the post, that PROVES a VTA makes performance worse ie a scoob on a rolling road with a recirc and a VTA, I have always loved the sound of a VTA (especially a hks one), for ME it enhances MY driving experiance.
I have tried going back to the recirc and noticed no difference between performance, I dont get any eratic idling, no back fires, no jerks off throttle.
As for just fitting to get noticed, I am driving a WR Blue Scoob FFS, why cant people on here just accept that we are entilted to do what they want with their cars, if you want a standard Scoob then fair play if people want blue neons, NOS purge and a dump vlave thats up to them. The Scoobs rep is not going down hill, its NEVER had a good rep since it stopped being sold next to tractors, the Scoob has always been the Boy Racers choice who has a bit of money, at the momment the only reason I would want to sell my Scoob is because of the attitudes that a lot of owners seem to be displaying.

LOL you're all a bunch of losers for looking on this thread. And so am I for doing the same thing.
I had a bloody loud Forge dump valve on my old motor, because it used a MAP sensor and didn't matter about whether air was metered or not. And I liked the noise as well, for the record. But the bottom line is that it did its job, which was to minimize compressor stall on throttle-offs.
On my WRX I've got the original factory dump valve, and that doesn't make a noise, but it still does its job, which is to minimize compressor stall on throttle-offs.
So IMHO dump valves ARE cool. Turbochargers need them - 'end of' as that Saskia off of Big Brother would have said. Who cares whether they make a noise or not? That's up to each individual owner whether they want the sound. It makes me laugh that all these people who moan that atmospheric valves are 'chav' would most likely feel no shame in telling people they like the sound of their aftermarket exhaust.
And as for 'bore wash' - nonsense. With a metered induction system an atmospheric dump valve will for a split second between gear changes cause a richening of the mix but not enough to cause genuine bore wash - real result: the occasional pop or bang from the exhaust. I bet the mix gets no richer than when you start the car on a cold morning.

Can't you get the same effect by taking the boombox off the inlet pipework?
Come on, be honest, who has seen a chav in an Escort with a DVA?? .... and .... what have you muttered to yourself??
Yes, thats right .......... "What an utter w4nker!!"
Just because you have a Scooby doesn't mean that you are immune to being a DVA Chav W4nker!! Ford, Vaux., Scooby, Pug., you are still a Chav with a DVA!!
Poll or no poll, common decency and class dictates that it's a BIG NO NO to a DVA!!
Pete
