Chav didn't used to be an "insult" or a p1ss-take. Apparently it used to be used in some parts of the South East as a greeting or acknowledgement.

Aquascutum (careful how you type it) is fast becoming a Ned brand in Glasgow, Top shops like cruise sell it however more and more neds/Chavs wearing the fakes etc.
I used to spend alot of money on my clothes before mortgage/missus/child came along and was a burberry, Lacoste wearer about 6 or 7 years ago, ditched it as soon as the Neds caught on, didnt see why i should spend £80-£100 of my hard earned cash on a shirt when you were just seen as a thug for wearing it.

true.. as i said in an earlier post , i Do O stil wear the odd SI or 'other' label, but wear it in such a way know as its not overtly 'bragging' the fact..i have had the odd 'knowing nod' from certain 'local chavs' but its normally a nod of regcognicion that IM actually wearing the real stuff next to their 'shabby ' fake..having a shaven head ( not really thru' choice) and sporting tattos ( when seen) tends to make THEM wary also... so it works in MY favour at times.....

si is "hooly wear" not chav gear. the differences between hooligans and chavs are many.
it's to expensive for the chavs to have the real stuff same as lacoste, the real stuff is serious dollar so they get the snide rubbish from there mate billy down the market.

I like SI, and people commenting they stopped wearing Burberry years ago, what the **** were you doing wearing it in the first place, it looked horrible years ago let alone now, if you ever wore it then your a victim of fashion, you can't tell you really thought that looks nice.
And the word Chav is getting a little boring now, almost every other thread starets with it.

if you are a 'chav' then anything you wear will be 'chav'...surely its all about personal choice, sublety and good taste...?
