A Gucci thats about 10 years old.
My day-to-day watch is a Casio MR-G G-shock that I have had about 5 years. It has survived MTB crashes, a minimoto crash and once fell off my wrist while I was in a house fire and I didn't find it again until we were cleaning up. They sure can take abuse!!

The latest one looks good too

My current Submariner is 9yrs old and never missed a beat. My Cartier Santos is similar, both these watches are mechanical.

I also have 2 x Bulova side view drivers watches, both boxed and new. 1 x 1976 and 1 x 1977

The face was white when Dad got it. He was in The Air Force and with his various travels to hotter climates it went Yellow. When it was in for the Service they offered to replace the face with a new one (at no extra charge) but I decided the yellow face contained the watches life history and left it .

From this thread I noticed that watches will survive almost anything and even could be passed on to the next generation!

Mine is some Ellesse thing they had on sale for £100 notes - 1/2 price. My watchs usually get mangles in car engines or I lose them. So an expensive watch is a no-no.

Dont agree with that, most of the watches listed are approx £10 - £1000 I would guess, but also have a life of 10 years, so even the top whack ones are only £100 a year for the owners, thats approx 2 tanks of Scoob fuel AFAIK

Your choice of timepiece can only be admired and respected. If I didn't think you were talking crap I would congratulate you.

Whisper ... remember, I am very old - in 1967 this watch wasn't worth the £10,000 it is today ... Whisper off

It's just a name

SEIKO must be the most under-rated maker of timepieces IMHO

Pete

Ferrari is "just a name", Bugatti is also "just a name" yet, as simple as these words are, they still portray images of 'bigheaditus' in us common folk.

Oh, I see, the greened eyed monster - sorry, didn't think you were so short sighted

Nothing wrong with an old fella having an old watch and the thread asked what watch I had (I have many, this happens to be my favourite - it isn't the most valuable!)

Is suggest you step back and take a look at your attitude to others - yes??

"Attitude to others", or attitude to YOU, you're in a whole class of your own Pete.

Perhaps I could have phrased myself better, yes "Ferrari" is a name, but to then say my Ferrari is worth £100,000 is portraying symptoms of 'bigheaditus', you see how this works??
