Soon to be an ex-Scooby owner

I came from an Audi S4 to an Impreza last year. (Audi bought the S4 back as it had 'engine issues') The Impreza is completely fantastic, but the dealers are an extremely unfunny joke, the interior is foul, and bits keeps breaking and falling off. I really don't think an Audi is the answer though, unless you get the comfy one with the special 'Pipe and Slippers' kit!

Sorry, I'm not sure that you quite understand. The car is completely sensational, so much more involving than the S4 ever was or can be. It's just a shame the dealers are so crap, as they are the ones who make or break the experience. I've just been told that my dealer hasn't got the equipment to do a 4 wheel alignment check, and to go to Kwik **** instead. Possibly not what I should really expect, is it?

I've had my 2000 classic turbo for 2 and a half years now,i've loved every minute of it and it makes me smile every day.I will definetely buy another when the time comes.....very soon methinks I knew before I bought that it wouldn't be the cheapest to run bet, hey,so feckin what you only live once. I wouldn't say the chav image is really an issue up here and even if it was I couldn't care less.
BTW i've just turned 42.....am I still allowed on here?

1) I don't regard 20ish mpg as appalling for a car (STi UK PPP) that'll hit 60mph in under 5 secs, pull 30-70mph in around 4.5 secs and has a topend of 155+ mph. If I wanted 30+ I'd have bought something else. MPG figures for all models of Subarus are easily available before purchase.
2) The only folk that go on about Chavs and Scoobs are some of the whingers in here. I get nothing but positive comments from 4 yr olds through to my 70+ yr old Mother in Law.
3) I pay £434 fully comp... Is that high? Wouldn't have thought so for the performance, replacement cost etc
4) The STi is our 7th Turbocharged Impreza since 07 April 1994 (1st day of UK sale). It's never been scratched let alone broken into and stolen. Keep reading Scoobynet for all the frightening tales. The reality is somewhat different...
5) Fuel cut off? Never had that in any of the aforementioned 7 Scoobs. Get it to a garage to have it fixed.
6) Each to his or her own, but I'm 6'4" tall and few seats I find as comfortable. Autocar rated the seats a while back, as the most comfortable available on a production car.
7) Never had any hassles with clearance personally, and we used to live 1.5 miles down a farm track, shared with Tractors, Land Rovers, Lorries etc.
Good luck with your Audi. Hope you haven't made another rash purchase.

Actually I agree with him. Subaru now have a very Chav image, This concerns me, I never had this problem with my TT but with my STI I am beginning to loathe its iamge, every chav council estate schoolboy wants a ride

I will miss the performance and grip.
I won't miss:
Fuel economy and insurance "what did you expect" ? As for calling it the wrong side of CHAV, you obviously wanted a subaru 4 months ago, and now that you have found out you can't afford to run it so now you think its CHAV, just stick to the real reasons and not trying to make yourself feel better by slagging off the image of the car.

I won't miss:
- The appalling fuel economy
- The image, which is now the wrong side of chav
- The insurance costs
- The fear of leaving it anywhere in case it gets nicked or damaged
- The tendency from time-to-time for the fuel to cut off when it overboosts
- The seats that made my back ache
- The fact it was so low it scraped the ground every time I got it into the driveway

Drive down the street in a lambo/ferrari/porsche/Evo/Noble.... They're fast cars and people know this, it's just the chavs that shout it from the pavement.
My sister used to own an MGF, and got a lot more s*** shouted at her that I ever do, particularly if she drove around with the roof down. Anything other than dull and they're like flies round s***.
Personally after a week of not driving the car, just sitting in it makes me grin from ear to ear. That's after 4 years of owning it. I certainly won't let scum, or the band of idots on here that slate them ruin it for me.

Hardly a Scooby but it won't cost me anything anyway, as the wife uses it to get to work in..
If its a weekend car then fuel economy and insurance shouldnt be an issue, youre only using it for fun so you shouldnt be taking it to the shops/work etc.. And as its only a weekend car your poor back shouldnt be a problem?
I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with the bland as a slice of dry toast Audi

You mean to tell me that you were happy with your hairdressers car image of the TT? I think I'd rather have young kids looking and smiling at my car than a bunch of nice boys.
Isoproturon, sorry to hear you're leaving the Scooby owners fold - we never got round to that drive around N Yorks! All I can say is, once you've been bitten.....!
Don't forget to look me up if you're ever in the building on business. And if you're in need of an adrenalin fix I can be easily persuaded - a pint of York Brewery Three Legs springs to mind!!!!
