The Type R will do 150 mph. Both my Version 3 and 6 have done so on a Private area of course.

I'll vouch for that too! Think there might even be some video evidence of that run.

Yikes

And the survey says... 9/10 Type R owners when asked, said their car will do 150mph+ (and they also said steer clear of Keighly Motors!)

Did you at least ring the number I posted earlier to see if they had any in? Its worth a look if you want a good example.

Fair enough.

But you have been warned about KM. If you do insist on going to test drive one, please please go and at least look at some others before signing on the dotted line, even if you contact someone thats selling privately, you could use it as a comparision. Im sure you will see the difference. That said, you may be the one lucky punter that gets a good one from them, chance's are, you wont be though. From what I remember at Scooby Shootout II (and/or TOTB) last year, even their own skyline broke down!!

I dont think there is a "best" aftermarket system as such, its down to personal choice. My preference is H&S stuff (and theres a group buy on at the moment on here). Its possible I suppose that you could expect up to 320 with a full decat and induction plus remap IF YOU DONT KEEP SHOUTING AT PEOPLE that is

You might find that the one you get already has an aftermarket exhaust, so before you get ahead of yourself, buy the car first. Second, learn to drive it before getting more power... they bite back. Seriously.

Oh and one other thing, you should learn how to use the Search function on the forum to do some of your research. If you do a search for "Knocklink", you'll get the answer's you're looking for. It just saves people answering the same questions over and over again. Not having a go or anything like that and most people are happy to share their knowledge but its always worth doing a quick search before asking, just to see if anyone else has asked the same questions before you. You wont be the first

Scooby + full decat = the neighbours will hear you leave and arrive everytime, regardless of backbox. Live with it, cos they'll have to

If thats the case, how can you say it wont do it then? I have a Type R, and I've had mine showing much much more than that. Yes its high revving, but the engine IS high revving, hence the redline of
8K near as damn it. Not trying to have an argument mate, just stating the facts.

8250rpm actually..yes and apparently facts are becuase of the group n close ratio box in the type r its restricted to a top speed of roughly 130mph, the haynes manual and others must be miles off so???? theyve all quoted this, they cant all be more than 20mph off surely?!?!!

You're right mate. Mine and everyone else who has a type r that has seen 150+ are all talking sh1te, just like my GPS detector was as well.

If you havent tried, you cant say it wont, because it will. I've had mine straight from Japan, no other UK owner so the box wont have been changed for a longer 5th gear if thats what your getting at.

I think it's probably best to just agree to disagree, not looking for an argument as stated in my previous post.

At the end of the day, the lad will (maybe) buy one and find out for himself.

so all this time ive been thinkin that my sti type r with close ratio group blah blah gearbox will only allow roughly 130mph which is stated in sooo many scooby mags and its bull****, if mine doesnt hit 150 this week im flying over to slap you!!!!!
