it looks to me like the scooby driver floored it as he passed the other cars but then just slowed it down a bit ,still acclerating but but only gently up to his cruising speed.The old mank ford is on the power first when they go to overtake but he doesnt pull up to the scooby at all till he slows and pulls in ,that suggests the scooby is more powerfull and faster ,to be on the ges second and still hold your own is pretty impressive.
As for the ********* in the ford escort ,well, just about the saddest folks im fortunate enough not to know.

 

i think the scooby goes for it then when he realises that a rampant hairdresser is keeping up with him eases off and pulls in to stop the embarrassment.

It isn't the fact that a tuned ford can be as fast as a UK scoob, it's the fact that they're a leeetle bit over the top southern numpties

couple of things to say

look at the spoiler, its not an STI.

Also, its a classic so you can bet its probably a UK Turbo. Its got stock spoiler and wheels so you can bet its probably stock power of 215 bhp.

And its hardly what you'd call a race either.

Spent the same ammount of money on a subaru, as he did on his RS cabrio it would leave the ford for dead.

Oh, and id like to see it race a MY03 STI UK PPP. He wouldnt stand a chance.

 

My thoughts exactly. I passed a RS Tubby the other day (not racing just driving briskly on a big uphill) and it had a zetec and a bit of cash thrown at it (found out later) and I have to say I was surprised by its pace, so it's entirely feasible that a escrote with a bigger engine and turbo could be fast in some areas.

I worked out some formulae to explain these phenomena:

A shed + 1k = a 200bhp shed.

Scooby = Scooby

Scooby + 1k = Fast Scooby.

A shed + 1k + ned = Priceless!

the scooby is racing too, else why would he push past the other cars, and then undertake 2 more further up the road. Its not just the 'scort ! My guess is they're both full of geeks

Mentioned this thread to a friend of mine who spends a lot of time around Sutton. As soon as i said white RS turbo carbio he pi55ed himself laughing, he has seen this car many times trying to race anything, and said the driver is a complete to55er......as i guess the video proves!!!

 

It didn't undertake! It made progress in the lane it wished to use!

 

just watched that first video for the third time and cant stop laughing at the t1ts in the escort, what a couple of bell ends. That noise from turbo chatter would drive me insane ( i know its not from the wastegate), all inall another lovely lax power chav mobile
