On Dyna Dynamics rolling road made over 380bhp, boost figures dropped and igntion backed off for saftey still gave 375bhp at no more than 1.5 boost.
I agree with what it should do and before switching to Injen tuned inlet and APS 3 1/2" exhaust only gave 345 - 350 bhp.
Im running Walbro fuel pump (does anybody run anything else at this level of tune??)
Is that a no on the APS sr44 turbo then ??

As Paul stated, now that you've put some miles into it the ECU may have pulled it back to a safer level of tune, if you still got the same figures if you just turned up at WRC and ran it I'd be surprised.
I tend to use the Delta Dash road dyno function as it provides good repeatable results and is a solid base for comparing differences, perhaps find someone local to you with a copy to try.

It would be good to see the car run on a different set of DD rollers, just for a comparison.
I'm not suggesting WRC do this ...but... I know of at least 2 other tuners that map the car for a big number on the rollers, then back off the timing and fueling to 'keep it safe' So all you actually get is a number that the car could achieve if tuned to the edge of blowing up, not what it's actually running.
Hence my suggestion above, just for clarification

No i did all work WRC mapped.
Andy thanks for advise, prob be getting one of your 18g from Zen with fuel mods and hopefully Paul will remap too if price right.
(Praying that midrange will come back with no surge, and near 400bhp!!)

Agree with you on the fact that rolling road tuners give you the fiqure higher than the fiqure you actually end up with. The bhp claims are getting to be a joke, Guys like you must just laugh at them. Trouble is the people that believe them must be taking some of your business away from you,

I can't see the point in doctoring figures myself and should anybody do that then thats a steel rod for ones back, but I FULLY concur that RR figures are not the be all and end all. In a controlled environment (or as controlled as possible - now here is the hard part) were repeatable results can be gained through various levels of modifications, then they are conducive (as a before and after indication).

I agree with all people about what can happen at rolling roads, but i have been to wrc at three differant times and figures all about what i would expect.
1st time ECUtek map (not done by them), about 320bhp than i fitted Injen cai WRC remap 334bhp and a massive jump ai midrange torque.
(This is when i got the bug for more power because it was so good to drive)
2nd time I fitted APS front mount myself (not from WRC from G Force) WRC map 343bhp more top end, but loss low down due to surge.
3rd time I fitted 3 1/2" APS race exhuast to try and improve/reduce back pressure on turbo exit 375bhp and some of my torque back, and for longer.
No one was more suprised then Chris at WRC at this figure, whats more it was on and of the dyno at least three times due to EVO mag being there doing petrol tests. Every time it got to mid 370bhp sometimes more.
I must point out though the temp outside was about 3 c.
My point is if i did all work and bought nothing of WRC what would be the point of giving me false figures.
Any how just spoke to Paul at Zen, subject to rolling road availabilty on Tuesday we will all find out.........

my uk my00 vf34,decat,etc etc etc is running around 340 bhp
i've been considering a td05 for sometime now
but still not sure which 1 to go for 18 or 20
i do attend alot of meets, quarter miles,track days,rolling road days
the track i go round mostly is short and twisty, 80 mph maximum
even with the vf34 i'm in 1st on 2 or 3 of the bends
i'd imagine the 05 would be a bit more laggier than the vf34 but with alot more gains in power ?????????
i am 1 of those that like good figures on RR days and am prepared to sacrifice a BIT of lag to get it
even though i only have a 2.0 would i be better with the 18 or 20g ?

Very very happy Paul, can’t praise you enough for the many hours of work you put into my car.
Heres what happened for anybody that’s thinking of upgrading there Subaru.
Paul rang me last week in response to my questions on Scoobynet and phone call to him about my car and future upgrades. After a lengthy phone call from Paul to me (lots of questions on my part) we came to the conclusion that a TD05, 18G turbo and adjustable fuel pressure regulator would meet my requirements. We arranged a price all in on phone including ECUTEK remap and rolling road runs.
So I left home Tue morn at 5.00am for the journey to Zen Performance, 5 hours later (bloody traffic) we arrive at Zen. Warmly greeted by Paul with cups of tea etc. Quick look around Zen and at my new turbo, then we borrow Paul’s car and off to town for lunch and shopping.
About one we come back to find all the new parts just about on and nearly ready to map. Now its my turn to do some work I drive and Paul maps, a few runs and were both fairly happy, so of too Dyno Dynamics rolling road for power run.
On dyno car sounds and looks good but not making power I expected (cue me getting a little upset), Paul just calmly asks, what would you be happy with? Then goes about making adjustments here and there till he gets about 380bhp. Now I’m starting to cheer up if we could just get a load of torque.
Times getting on now about 9.00pm but Paul’s still at it, after many more adjustments and a few more runs 383ibft torque 390.9bhp, I’m very very happy now its exceeded my expectations.
Quick roadtest to confirm driveabilty and off I go. Well not quite as easy as that slight overboost in 5th and 6th, so more adjustments until we are both very happy with results. I must point out that it is twelve at night now and Paul is still cool and still at it getting my map perfect.
I finally let Paul go home and start my journey back, well I can say that empty roads, nice cool air and 390bhp made the journey home fantastic even though I was absolutely frazzled.
Thanks again Paul, fantastic job and I have no problem recommending you to anybody for a top, top job at a very very good price.
No doubt I will speak to you soon, and as soon as I can I will post dyno sheets (unless you beat me too it).

Thats an excellent result. You must have constant grin across your face when driving your car. I totally agree with you about Paul's work and attention to detail in all aspects of his work. Very highly recommended.

Sounds a fantastic job, Where does he do the rolling road test, Spoken to him at santa pod once was very helpfull, your car must be very quick now, must be well worth the money, well done paul
