I had my 2000 Classic for 3 weeks then learnt an expensive lesson in how sensitive these cars are to tyre type and pressure. Was leaving a roundabout in the wet, gently accelerating when without warning the back end snapped aroung and I went off the road down a ditch and drivers door in to a tree doing about 30mph. Scared me and my 2 children that were in the back of the car. I had a look at tyres and noticed they was a mix of 2 michelins on front new, and on the rear one toyo and one auroa tyre. So 4 weeks later when I got car back from repair with 2 new toyo proxies T1R's fitted on it had 2more fitted so had a matched set of tyres. The difference is feel of the car is amazing and in wet weather is a lot more controlled. I'm gradually getting my confidence back in the car so just goes to show what can happen when your car isn't as it should be.

hmm urs shudnt be stepping out man, in the dry shudnt budge! in the wet u must be really hammering into those bends, type r diffrent story to ur 4 door handling wise

in the dry its ok once its a bit greasy out itl step out quite easily, maybe its just the fact that 280-300bhp tends to make you loose a bit of traction even if its a bit damp...they certainly dont handle as good standard as an evo...need to sort out the suspension first...did you sell your type r in the end??

Whats the warning sign if any of this problem
my V4 type R is a handful
had it sideways a few times
learning to use the dccd that helps on fast corners in wet but its still not 100%
had geometry done
yokohamas all round fitted new 4 months ago
compound is really more suited to summer weather though
it feels like there is a little play in the steering
hitting bumps causes car to wander a little at low speeds
would worn balljoints cause this
also suspension doesnt seem that stiff
What tyre pressures are fellow type r owners running with stock wheels?
any info would be great

Lost it coming off a roundabout doing about 30mph on a greasy road on which you could see some spilt oil or diesel. If I'd have been going quick then would have understood it. Also had a nail in front tyre which I didn't know about which may not have helped.
